When I got home from frozen yogurt, I walked in to see my pregnant sister, Ashley arguing with my parents. "I want to keep the baby" she screamed stomping up the stairs. This was the fourth time this week they tried to convince her to put her child up for adoption.
"Mom, you may as well give up, you know Ashley would never give up her baby," I say. They both just roll their eyes at me so I head up to my room.
When I enter my room as soon as I close the door there is a hand covering my mouth. I thrash and scream but nothing can get me free of my captor's arms. "Emmy calm down, it's just me," Noah says. "You do know you almost just gave me a heart attack right," I say. Noah rolls his eyes at me smirking while doing so.
"Emilia, I need to ask you a favor," he starts, seeing if I'm willing to listen. "Go on," I say impatiently. "Can I sleep here for a few nights just until I earn enough money to get my own place," he says looking like a wounded dog.
"Hell no," I say. "First of all there is no way were sleeping in the same bed, and if you think I can even be in the same room with you anymore then you're sadly mistaken," I say.
"Oh Emmy, you know you'd love to sleep with me," he says winking. "God you're a pig," I reply. "Please Emilia, my dad kicked me out when I came home drunk," he says pleading.
"Ugh..okay fine, but you have to sleep on the floor and you can't make a sound," I say. "You can shower in my bathroom, but you have three weeks tops and if you break any of my rules you go, got it," I say
"Thanks Emmy, I really appreciate it," he says. "Stop calling me that," I say angrily. "Why not I've always called you that since we were little," he says sounding hurt. "We're not kids anymore,Noah, get over it and stop acting like one," I say.
I secretly love the nickname, but I can't afford to get close to Noah. In the end someone would get hurt, and I didn't want it to be me.
"Fine, whatever you say princess," he says smirking,"
I roll my eyes, but I get him a pillow and two blankets. I make sure to lock my door so my parents don't walk in and I turn out the light. "Night Emmy," he says. "Night Noah, don't try anything," I whisper back. "I won't make any promises," he says chuckling.
I drift off to the sound of Noah snoring, and when I wake up I feel a warm arm wrapped around me. I snuggle deeper into the person and when I open my eyes I scream. "Noah why are you in my bed!,"
"Don't act like you didn't like it princess," he says winking. I push him over back on the floor where he belongs. "Stay on the floor this time or you'll have to find a box to share with another homeless person," I snap.
"Sorry Emilia you just looked kind of lonely, I thought you might like some company," he winks. "Whatever, just go back to sleep," I say drifting off again.
