When I walked into school on Monday I didn't expect to spend my afternoon in detention. I also didn't expect to dump my whole lunch on Noah Jackson.
My classes went smoothly and when I went to lunch, I thought it would go the same,it didn't. My friends Amy and Mindy were waving at me to sit by them and when I waved back I fell into a rock hard chest. "Sorry, I didn't mean to run into you," I said while blushing. I didn't look up at the person, but I did get a response of, "God watch where you're going, I mean I am attractive but there isn't a reason to stalk me Emily," Noah says.
Instead of being embarrassed I was furious. How could this jerk think I have a crush on him!?!
"It's Emilia asshole, and just because everyone else is falling at your feet doesn't mean I am going to," I fired back.
"Listen Emilia is it, you don't have to lie about it, I know you want me," he says right back.
I was so angry I didn't have time to think about my actions and I dumped my whole lunch tray on Noah. "What the fuck!," he says throwing spaghetti that had gotten on his white v-neck at me.
I was about to shoot some sarcastic comment towards him, but I was interrupted by the intercom. "Can Noah Jackson and Emilia Michaels report to the principal's office please?," a mechanical voice drones.
That's how I ended up in detention with Noah after school on this wonderful Monday.
"Emilia get that pissed off look on your face, it's not like I was the one who got us detention," he snorted.
"It's not like I got us detention," I mimicked.
"That was mature," he retorts. "Yeah because you're the role model for maturity," I fire back.
"You do know how to not be sarcastic right?," he asks. "That's like asking if you know how to not be an asshole," I say.
Ignoring me he says, "Let me make it up to you, I'll take you out for frozen yogurt," he says knowing it's still my weakness.
"Fine you know I can't resist," I say and he smiles at me. "Yeah I remember Emmy."
My heart melts at the nickname, I have missed my old best friend so much. If only he wasn't such a bad boy asshole.
After detention lets out at five pm he leads me to his motorcycle or should I say his death trap. "Um Noah you don't really expect me to hop on this thing do you?," I ask. He snorts, "Just take the helmet and hop on Emilia."
I take the helmet and hop on. "You know you need to put your arms around me so I can drive right?," he says smirking. Begrudgingly I wrap my arms around him and he speeds in traffic. I yelp and wrap my arms around him tighter and he chuckles.
As we get off the motorcycle, which I now know why my mom calls them donor cycles, we head into the yogurt shop.
"You just wanted to ride the stupid bike so I would be close to you," I joke. "Yeah because being in a room with you isn't close enough," he says laughing.
We order our yogurt and sit down with it, but we don't talk the whole time. What happened to the Noah I knew and when did he turn into this unrecognizable person?
