Chapter 15: Moving in Or Moving On?

Noah's POV:
    Today is the date Alec and I said we would move into the apartment, and I'm not sure if I'm ready to leave Emilia. I need to push my feelings aside though because it's not appropriate for me to be living here.
    The day has already gotten to a bad start because the twins woke us up at 3am. That is one thing I won't miss, the crying drives me insane, and it's been worse lately than usual.
Around 8am I shower and get ready before Emilia is even aware the sun has started to rise. I love her, but damn does she sleep late and the only way to get her up is coffee.
    At about 8:30 I have finished and what do you know, she actually got up on time. Emilia quickly gets dressed in some lazy clothes (a sweater and some joggers). I know she's not looking forward to having to see Alec, but I think his apology was sincere.
    We pack my things in her car, and let me say the whole morning has been silent. Emilia is the one to break when I hear muffled sobs.
    "Babe, what's wrong?" I ask.
"It's just that I know..well.. I just know we aren't going to be seeing each other as much and I think you're gonna cheat since you have your own place," she cries.
    I guess I didn't think of how this would affect her, I just thought our relationship would continue to be the same.
    I can feel my face grow hard as she says the words cheat, I have a track record, but I would never cheat on Emmy.
    "Emmy, baby, I would never, and I mean never cheat on you. Not now, not in a million years. You have nothing to worry about, and I'm sure you'll come over to my place all the time when I'm not at work," I reassure her.
    "I guess I'm just being a little paranoid," she admits, wiping at her nose.
    "It's okay baby, you can tell me anything," I tell her.
    "Thanks babe," she says flashing me a smile.
    We get to my new apartment in no time, it is only ten minutes from her house. I purposely looked at apartments in walking distance so Emmy can reach me whenever she needs to.
    I guide Emilia to the building, getting my keys from the manager, Marge. She reminds me a lot of my mom, with her soft facial features and curly black hair. I wish my mom was here to see this big step in my life...
    We take the elevator to the 3rd floor and unlock the door to apartment 116. It's a really nice apartment, two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, a big kitchen, and a nice sized living room. The whole apartment is furnished and there is even a balcony.
    "This is an amazing place," Emilia says.
    "It may be amazing, but it would be even better if you lived here," I say being honest.
    Emilia blushes at my comment and giggles a little bit, god she is so cute.         Not long after we arrive, Alec and someone I've never met before come into the apartment.
    Emilia greets Alec civil and I give him a hug. The guy standing next to Alec just smiles at us and suddenly Emilia's eyes light up in recognition.
    "Ash, what are you doing here!" She says hugging him.
    This Ash guy chuckles and tells us he is friends with Alec and he came here to help Alec move in, blah, blah, blah.
    Who does this guy think he is with his brown hair and douchey clothes? How the fuck does he know my Emmy. He's wearing a plaid button up and some skinny jeans. The worst part about his outfit is his hair. There's so much product on it that there should be a flammable warning.
    Him and Emilia slip into a conversation about how they know each other but I just ignore them and turn to Alec.
    "Please tell me he's your boyfriend Alec," I say, I'm pissed that Ashton is here right now(I guess that's his name, what an asshole, I know).
    "Sorry dude, he's as straight as you are," Alec says with a look of sympathy.
    I know I'm just being a jealous freak, who knows maybe if I try this guy and I could actually be friends?

Emilia's POV:
    Ash moved into town the year Noah left, and since Noah and I started dating we haven't been that close. He's the only one I let call me Emmy besides Noah.
    Ash has brown hair and amazing blue eyes, he's pretty attractive I'm not gonna lie but my heart is with Noah. While Noah is busy talking to Alec, Ash and I easily slip into conversation.
    "So how's life been Emmy, still dating Noah I see," he says with and emotion I can't read in his eyes.
    "Yeah he makes me so happy Ash, I've never been happier. Ashley had her baby, well I should say babies because they turned out to be twins. My dad moved to Texas and my mom is dating a guy at her office, so yeah home life isn't too great," I say with a nervous laugh.
    "Sorry to hear that, just know I'm always here for you," he says touching my arm.
    I look over and see Noah's nostrils flare, he is not looking happy. I thought Noah would come over and punch Ash, but instead he just comes over and puts his hand on the small of my back. Alec says his farewell and heads into his room. Alec really was forced to do it, because he's actually a super nice guy.
    Noah starts to interrogate Ash and so that's when I decide that we should go. "Hey Noah, wanna go get some lunch, it's already 1 o'clock." I say.
Noah slowly nods his head and I practically pull him at the door as Ashton says,"Text me and we can make plans to go have coffee or something to catch up."
    I quickly nod my head and pull Noah out the door, and let me tell you by that time he is fuming with jealousy.
    "How do you know that douche?" Noah immediately demands.
     "Ashton moved here a year after you, and he's been there for me when you haven't. He was my best friend but lately we've drifted apart and I grew closer to Amy. I hope we can be best friends again, he means a lot to me," I admit.
    Noah gives me an incredulous look,
"You don't see the way he looks at you, he's obviously in love with you, I don't want you near him," he says.
I can't believe how controlling Noah is, he really is unbelievable sometimes.
    "First of all you can't tell me who I can't and can hangout with. Ashton is a big part of my life and if you really love me you will accept that. Ashton is a friend and nothing more, he doesn't feel anything for me like that," I say, frustrated.
    Noah still looks pissed but he nods his head anyways.
    "You're right, I'm sorry Emilia," he says giving me a peck on the lips.
    "Thank you for the apology, I forgive you," I say.
    "But if that asshole tries anything with you-," he starts.
    "Noah, that's enough, end of conversation. Besides, I'm hungry, let's go to Frankie's Diner," I say and drag him along to my black Audi.
