~The Late Night Book Addiction

Emilia's POV:

It's the next morning after Noah and I made up and I couldn't be feeling any better. It's a perfect fall weekend morning and I'm ready for a relaxing day with Noah. I think we are just going to do homework, or at least I will because I missed school for three days. I turn on my side and I see Noah already has his eyes open and he's staring at me.

"Why are you looking at me, would you like a picture, it might last longer," I tease. "As a matter of fact I would," he says with a lopsided smile before pulling out his camera and taking a snapshot of me laughing. "Delete that right now," I giggle. He just shakes his head and laughs at me before posting the photo on instagram. "As much as I'm enjoying this babe, you have homework to do, and the sooner you get it done, the sooner we can lounge around," he says.

I know that he is right, but homework is the last thing I want to be doing on a Sunday. We sit there doing homework, but we take the occasional break to goof off with each other(and no I don't mean having sex). I don't know about Noah, but I don't plan on sleeping with him in that way until we are married, or engaged at the least. I know he has had his fair share of escapades, but if he really loves me he will wait. Anyways, as I was saying we occasionally would goof off before getting back to work. I don't know how long it's been, but finally I get all of the work done and I suddenly hear my phone ring. It's on Noah's side of the bed so I have him hand it to me, but I see the look on his face and immediately know it's my dad.

In the middle of the summer my dad moved out of the house and moved to Texas. He says he tried his best to stay to support Ashley and the unborn baby, but I'm not sure how true that statement really is. He told us he would stay in touch, but this is the first time I have heard from him since his move. I hesitantly accept the call and I can feel Noah rubbing my back and encouraging me to be strong. "Hello?" I answer hesitantly. "Hello Emilia, how are you?" he asks. "I'm good, why do you care?" I suddenly snap. I hear him sigh on the other end before he starts to ask about my mother and her boyfriend. My mom started to date this past summer and she's dating some guy named Richard in his early 40's who works in the same office as her; they're both accountants.

"Listen Emilia, I'm really sorry I haven't called it's just I've been very busy moving into the new house," he says. "You know you are welcome to catch a flight here anytime, there is plenty of space here for you," he continues. "Thanks for the offer but I'll have to pass," I quickly say before ending the call and turning off my cell phone so that he won't try to call me back.

Noah knows he just needs to comfort me so that's exactly what he does, he pulls me in while I cry into his shoulder. "Emmy, are you okay, what did he say?" Noah asks. "How can he just forget about us and move thousands of miles away? How can he act like everything is fine and nothing has happened? He's been ignoring my texts and calls for the past two months Noah, and now he wants me to visit, that just doesn't make any sense," I sob. "Shhh, Emmy everything is going to be okay," he says, hugging me tighter. We lay there for what seems like forever until Noah finally breaks the silence, "Do you want to go do something?" he asks me. "What like a date?" I ask smiling. "Yeah, you are my girlfriend after all," he says. "I like the sound of that, boyfriend," I say giggling. "What sounds good, the date or you being my girlfriend?" he asks smiling at me. "Both," I say with a content sigh.

Noah tells me to dress comfortable, so I put on a navy blue sweater and some joggers with converse before putting my hair in a messy bun. Noah doesn't care if I wear makeup, he thinks I look beautiful without it so I don't wear any. "Ready to go, babe?" he asks kissing my forehead, in response I give him a quick kiss on the lips and he carries me out to the car, making me squeal. I let him drive my Audi, because I don't want to ride his deathtrap of a motorcycle. Noah wants it to be a surprise, so he drives. When we finally arrive at our destination half an hour later I cannot believe my eyes. We are on the mountaintop surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, you have an entire outlook on the city of Portland. Noah opens the trunk of my Audi and pulls out a picnic basket I didn't even see him put in the car, along with a blanket he lays out for us the sit on.

"When did you pack that picnic basket, I didn't even see you put anything in the car," I say. He just smiles as he pulls out two glasses of what looks like champagne, some type of pasta, and some garlic bread. "What?" I say. "I have my ways of surprising you Emilia Ann Michaels," he says, chuckling at me. "Mhmm, sure, also I don't want champagne after all the drinking I did before the summer," I giggle nervously. "Don't worry mother Teresa, it's just sparkling cider," he says laughing. He pours to glasses and we clink them together,"To us, to finally being together again,"he says and we both drink the bubbly apple juice. We continue to eat, sometimes we talk and sometimes we don't, "Thank yo for the date Noah, it was amazing," I say.

"Anything for you Emilia, I would do anything for you," he says staring me in the eyes. We share a brief kiss before staring out at the different constellations piercing the night sky, which he points out to me, telling me which ones are which. "How do you know so much about the stars?" I ask Noah. He sighs, " My mom loved looking at the constellations with me when I was younger," he says. "As you know she died of cancer when I was about 7 or 8, that's why me and my dad moved here the first time, the memories were too painful," he says with sadness in his eyes. "I'm sorry..you didn't have to tell me that Noah," I say. "I know, I wanted to, I want to share everything about me with you," he says as he reaches for my face. Our faces inch closer and closer together until our lips are almost touching, I feel my eyes flutter closed, anticipating the kiss, but all of a sudden my phone rings. "Hey what's up Mom?" I ask. She frantically screams in my ear and rushes me off the phone, telling me to get to the hospital as soon as possible. Noah has a look of worry in his eyes, as I know he could hear the word hospital. I get off the phone and I tell Noah that we need to leave and go to the hospital right then. "What's wrong?" he asks, obviously worried. "My sister is in labor," I breathe out.
