Hiatus... A hard word all things considered. Nyeli didn't understand it initially. When Papa explained it to him he had said the following: "Hmm. Think of it as a break. Yeah, that can work." A break usually means a bit more free time, doesn't it? The thought of it nearly excited Nyeli, so much so that he had to come over at a point very early in the morning, much to Papa's own dismay. When there he may have interrupted breakfast but it was that important, almost an emergency even. Though all he did was hold up a mini sign, asking if Brothnya wanted to attend art class with him today at the Kagehira School.
"Art class?" This one had asked, a bit dumbfounded. Was it that surprising? Nyeli had to learn this from somewhere, didn't he?
"Yes. Mikarin offered when Nyeli had watched him drawing... I think..." Papa responded, though yawning and just barely managing to keep himself awake here. "Anyway Secchan, do you want to go? You have time now, don't you?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"How nice~ You get to sleep in if you really want to~"
"Sleep in!? Who do you think I am!? Ann!?"
"Right here..." Sisnya interrupted in a slightly grumpy tone, sitting right nearby at the table and finishing up some cooked food. That was a surprise since Nyeli usually saw Sisnya eating instant ramen in the morning. But this was a full meal! And she seemed a bit more awake than usual. His ears wagged curiously thinking about it. Did she start taking care of herself? Or is this Brothnya doing? Either way, the kitty was happy to see that Sisnya seems to be doing a little better now, it was a little overdue.
"Well. it's true! You would stay up all night and get up in the afternoon if someone wasn't keeping an eye on you!"
"Should be fine..."
"Not if it's during the week!"
"Ann–Chan sleeping in? In what world?" Papa asked, as if it was news to him. Brothnya however only stared at Papa, the annoyance visible. Not like Nyeli couldn't relate. He knew all too well...
"In this one." Borthnya nearly scoffed, unable to help himself and Nyeli nodded along in agreement.
"Huh... That could explain the constant soda." Another nod from Nyeli and even Brothnya.
That only made Sisnya look at the two of them with a slightly narrowed gaze however while taking a bite of her food. "Sorry for being busy..."
Hearing that made Nyeli's ears perk up. Oh she is lucky that she is eating or he would bonk her a few times for something like this.
"Fufu~ I see you two are better than ever~" Papa chuckled, as if amused at the sight. "You haven't just not killed another yet but you seem to be getting closer. Now Secchan knows things not even I knew~"
"It happens if you start living under the same roof." Brothnya threw in, sounding not really impressed by this, as if it was bound to happen. "Especially in such a tiny space."
Papa only stared a few moments, as if debating something in his head from what Nyeli could tell, then nodding however. "Alright, fair enough. Anyway Secchan... About what Nyeli asked you earlier..."
"An art class huh... I... Well, never really—"
"Why not? Try new things!" Sisnya threw in, sounding a bit more enthusiastic now. Maybe the food gave her the necessary energy. "It's probably fun anyway!"
"What makes you say that?" Brothnya asked her, almost skeptical yet that didn't faze her much, at least not anymore.
"Sibling bonding!" She even added with a light smile. "I mean, it's spending time with Nyeli."
He looked at her for a short moment though found no arguments against it. "Hah, I suppose you're right about that. Alright, I'll join in for today. I have some time."
"Heh, good boy Secchan~ Papa is proud~"
"Don't even make jokes like that, Kuma—Kun..."
And that was how that morning went and it was not an understatement when saying that Nyeli was very excited. He wanted to invite someone over for some time now. But Sisnya was busy and Papa was too tired. His other two uncles and Auntie Arashi were also busy with their training and work. However, ever since hearing 'hiatus' Nyeli was full of hope that Brothnya had time to spare. And he did, what a lucky kitty he was! Though he didn't expect for his teacher to go wide eyed when spotting Brothnya carrying him, then asking if it was even alright to join in on the lesson. Of course it was fine and they got started!
Today? Landscapes! So Nyeli was very eager to learn about those, especially for his little picture book he had been working on. In truth it is a bit of a united work with Sisnya, both working on this book. He draws the pictures, she writes the stories each. A story based on the pictures he made some time ago when expanding his fyamily— Tales of knights serving a princess, all of their stories and achievements recorded! And currently they were working on something very special regarding the Black Knight, his big arc. It was a project the kitty was eagerly working on. Though he wasn't too good at the scenery and such, that was tough... So much detail he missed, so many rules to follow... But that's why he is learning! That's why Teach is... Well, teaching! And Nyeli was told that he was getting there! As for Brothnya though...
"Uhm... Sena–Senpai..." Nyeli heard Teach talking all of a sudden. It made Nyeli turn his attention to the two of them, peeking from his pieces of paper where he was currently trying himself on various objects to create a scenery. Some trees, bushes and even a lake. Flowers too! Make it look nice and lively! But he got curious so he had been distracted for a few seconds.
"I don't mean to be rude 'n anythin' but... What's this?"
"Th... That? Well..." Brothnya tried to keep his cool it seemed, not trying to sound like he was about to sink into the ground or something. Nyeli just saw the two staring and it got him curious as well. So he decided to get up and hop off his stool, then tapping over and climbing on Teach Mika's shoulder to get a better view. It seems that none of the two had realized as they kept on talking.
"Really... I'm tryin' to figure it out. That's... Abstract..." Mika added. "I mean art's 'bout self expression 'n—"
"D.. Don't you think I know that!?" Brothnya interrupted, sounding even more embarrassed the longer Teach seemed to talk.
"Then... You tryin' to express yerse—"
"Are you trying to mock me!?"
"Waah! No no no! It's not that! I'm just tryin' to figure out what... You're tryin' to express here..." Teach defended himself in the end. The cat was curious why yet once coming face to face with the drawing in question... he saw exactly why, in some way. A good look and not even Nyeli could tell whatever this was supposed to be.
What was Borthnya doing? Trying to draw the valley filled with monsters, led by a dragon? And even then the monsters would have funny shapes– Triangle, circle... The kitty thinks? Uh... It was super hard to tell. Not to mention that it felt a little tryhard, as if Brothnya tried to replicate something down to the tiniest detail... But in the end the image just got bloated with lines and shapes and dots. It was too much at once, so much so that no one would know what they would be looking at. Nyeli had no clue, he was just staring and trying to figure out... For five seconds. Because he gave up in no time due to his head hurting. It was complicated, to say the least. At least Brothnya was creative? Would that be it?
Well, as long as he knows what he was drawing there it should be—
"Honestly... I don't even know what this was supposed to be..."
Nevermind, he's as clueless as the rest of them.
