To forget their frustration ever since Ann has been trying to drown themself in work here and there, perhaps reviving some old habits they had been working against for a while. And yet it was not something they could help. It was becoming more and more frustrating as time went on, them almost ready to rip their hair out even. What was it that made Izumi not open his mouth and talk? Was he trying to hide so—
No, not this time. It was a little different from before. Maybe it was just their frustration blaming him all of a sudden, something they had done way before any of this as well... At least until he seemed to slowly showcase that he is not an entire lost cause. Of course things aren't that easy. This was his mother after all, things were ten times more complicated that way. Sure, she was a total bitch, she had proven that plenty of times, and yet that was still his mother. Things were not that simple. Besides, if their father committed a war crime, they would probably be not sure how to respond and maybe even defend him too.
Still, this crazy ass jumps right into life, just when things are going so smoothly, and turns everything upside down. This woman had an audacity like none other. Sure, Ann's own Mom could be a little overbearing, but she was no one to mingle into affairs this badly. She would never dare to sniff out her kid's address for one thing and show up unannounced, that much they could confirm. And the audacity to barge into their life this much uninvited? No, their mother would never do such a thing.
Kimiko was a little too close, so much so that it was nerve wracking. She has eyes for no one but Izumi, obsessing over him to an unhealthy degree. It was not normal. Ann wanted to say it but didn't know how. Again, that's his mother, so they couldn't just yell at him and forbid him from seeing her. They would be no better than that witch if they did just that. Oh they wanted to so desperately, given not just how she acted but also how she had treated Nyeli when seeing him, poor kitty still recovering in the comfort of their own home. At the very least there would be a temporary blessing as Izumi somehow managed to convince his mother to not come over for a bit, a miracle on its own really. Especially not when hearing in what shape Nyeli was in, so distraught that he refused to leave the apartment in fear of encountering that woman. He needed his time to calm down and would, though he was still not quite there just yet.
The signs of a bitch were in plain sight, and yet Kimiko was still in their lives, primarily mingling in her son's affairs. It was unbearable, to say the least, and yet nature didn't make it that simple. Besides, Ann could tell that Izumi seemed to somewhat fear his mother, afraid of the consequences perhaps if he talked back to her. They had never, ever seen him like this before, especially not since he escorted her back to whatever hotel she was staying at. So there had to be more going on. It was eating them up though. At most they could only edge him on to do something about it.
Talking it out? It was an option technically but who knows what memories they might trigger if they say anything. He might collapse from the sheer thought of his own mother, that's what it started to look like. Still, sitting idle— No, they refused to do that. Clearly something, there has to be something... And that was also something they thought about during work. After all, the sooner this woman is gone, the better!
And today was a lucky break, kind of, though it had been met with a groan at first. And why wouldn't it? When hearing that 'Ann! There's a famous model wanting to see you!' they knew who it most likely was. Yet at the same time it was confusing. What did Kimiko even want from Ann to begin with? Yet they decided to let her into the office, with not much of a choice left to begin with.
The start was sickly sweet, as always, and her smile made Ann sick to the stomach. They were about to throw up yet sadly they wouldn't. If they did they could have called in sick and walked off right then and there. What didn't sit right with them was that she was pretending to be so sweet and kind, as if she had never insulted them to begin with, let alone their living conditions. Nor as if they had never seen them acting like a bitchy robot, freaking out Nyeli to be close to his own breaking point. Every word this woman uttered was met with one eye roll after the other. Though she didn't try to hide her intentions, even when sounding ever so sweet. She was fairly direct in fact.
