It was time for Isabella 7th birthday unfortunately it fell in shift day so Matt and Sylvie were determined to make the weekend as special as they could.
Isabella has never had much of birthday before so this was going to be brand new to her that had a lovely weekend planned for first was trip tho Chicago Zoo with the Herrmann's.
"Bella it time to get ready we need to get going we are meeting up with the Herrmann's"Sylvie Said
"Coming Mommy" Bella Said
"Bella i have laid your clothes down on the bed" Matt said
"Math you are a wonderful father and even better husband" Sylvie said
"Well that because I have you and Bella and hopefully a new baby soon" Matt said
"Yeah I know we Need to keep trying I would like to have one of our own I know we have Bella but it would be nice for her to have a sister" Sylvie said
They all headed to the Zoo for a fun day the Herrmann's were already there.
"Hey Bella" Annabelle said
"Hey guys really glad we could this" Sylvie said
"Yeah of course how's it going with the trying for a baby" Cindy asked
"Well we aren't really trying we are just seeing what happens"Matt said
"Yeah good idea I have made a picnic for us all" Cindy said
"Cindy you didn't need to do that" Sylvie said
"It no problem sorry only Lee Henry and Annabelle could come the others wanted to stay home" Cindy said
"Its fine they older now so made Zoo are not as fun as they were when" Sylvie said
They had a really fun morning seeing all the different animals Bella definitely was enjoying it it was all going well up until a gun when off.
It seems someone was trying to commit a terrorised attack at the Zoo as the family were sitting down for lunch Sylvie had a gun held to her head she knew who it was it was a patient from a few weeks ago.
Sylvie stayed calm she didn't have a choice but she could feel Matt's Eyes on her and Cindy and Herrmann's all worried for her.
"Sir put the gun down" Sylvie said
"No you killed my brother" The Man said
"No I didn't i got him to the hospital alive he died from his injuries that not on me" Sylvie said
The man was not calming down despite Sylvie efforts to calm him down and he shot her Matt called an ambulance lucky the intelligence Unit were already there.
Adam Ruzak arrested the the man while Matt attended to his Wife Annabelle was keeping Bella playing she didn't want her to see this.
61 arrived at scene not long after the paramedics were from 51 third shift Rafftey and Chout they got Sylvie stable and loaded her into the rig.
"Can I go with I'm her husband" Matt asked
"Yes of course" Chout said
"Well will look after Bella she can have a sleepover we wouldn't tell what's happened we will keep her distracted" Cindy said
"Thanks Cindy" Sylvie Said weakly
61 drove away Matt had cluck his Keys at Herrmann so he could drive there car back and from there Severide could drive the car to Med.
At Med
"Sylvie Casey Off Duty paramedic was shot a Chicago Zoo was shot twice in the chest and once in abdomen stablelise in the field Bp 10/30 pules is slow was conscious on the scene lose consciousness on the ride" Chout said
"T2 Dr Marcel is on his way" Dr Halstead said
"Matt wait here we got her" Maggie said
"Transfer on my count one two three okay let's get CMP CVB ultrasound sound and chest X-Ray let's see how deep this wounds are" Dr Halstead said
The X-Ray was clean but the ultrasound showed Sylvie was pregnant at 8 weeks Dr Marcel came down the good news was the bullets were clean though so she need surgery.
"Okay she doesn't need surgery let's clean and sitch these wounds let's pull the bullets out it looks like the didn't hit anything vital I will need to monitor for a least two weeks to check the baby" Dr Marcel said
"I got tell Matt the good news" Dr Halstead said
Will met Matt in the waiting he had messaged 51 in the group not to come to Med and that he would keep them updated mostly because he knew they had weekend plans.
"How is she" Matt asked
"She fine the good news is the bullets didn't hit anything vital so she doesn't need surgery we are just going to pull them out clean and sitch them up oh and another she's 8 weeks pregnant we haven't told her yet she hasn't regained consciousness I understand she lost consciousness on the ride" Dr Halstead said
"Yes she did 4 minutes in" Matt explained
"Okay well we are admitting her she is protecting her airway so no need to intebate you can come though" Dr Halstead said
Matt when though and sat with wife and held her hand for awhile.
"When a bed becomes available we move her to the ICU" Dr Halstead said
