"You two don't really look that much alike. Not like Lovi and I." I commented that night at dinner.
"No we don't." Mathew agreed. "We also aren't as close."
"That's so sad." I whimpered. It was great having my Lovino around. I don't know what I would ever do without his support. Especially after Ludwig. I spent the first few days after the incident crying by his bedside.
I hoped Mattie would never have to go through anything like that alone.
"Did you put ze note in Arthur's mail?" Roderich asked Gilbert.
"Of course I did. It vould be unawesome for me not to."
I think I caught Mathew smiling at that, but he shoved a forkful of my homemade pasta in his mouth to hide it.
"So we just have to wait until Wednesday ah?" Lovino was at the table. He walked on crutches and probably wouldn't be able to do anything for a week, but Mathew's maple syrup was doing wonders.
"So I guess ve can trust Mattie enough for him to get his own room, can't we?" Roderich pushed his glasses up his nose.
"No!" Gilbert said almost instantly.
Mathew whimpered, a sound that was probably meant to be quiet, but was heard by everybody at the table.
"Birdie..." Gilbert started to soothe, but Mathew stood from the table.
"Looks like somebody's in trouble no?" Antonio teased.
Mathew's face was the same shade of red as the maple leaf on his sweater.
"Birdie." Gilbert repeated.
But Mattie had already turned and started to run out f the room.
