"Feli! Watch out!" I heard Lovino shout.
A heavy object landed over me, knocking the breath out of my tiny body. I heard a large bang. An explosion.
I knew who had fallen over me as soon as I saw the blue uniform.
"Ludwig, what are you-" I felt a warm liquid spilling over my body.
"Lud? Luddy?" I pushed him off me, gasping when I realized what the warm liquid was.
Blood.
A metal pole was sticking out of Ludwig's side.
"Ludwig? Oh my god! Ludwig?" I cried.
His eyes were closed and his face was drained of colour.
"Lovi? Where are you?" I had heard his voice before the accident. Was he alright?
"I'm here Fratello." I heard him shout.
"Are you okay?" I sat up, looking around for my brother. "Oh Lovi, no." He was lying on the floor, a beam set over his legs.
"How's Luddy?" Lovi asked, drawing my attention back to the bloody form at my side.
"Luddy is-Ludwig's dead." I choked.
"Stay strong Fratello." Lovi knew how to keep me grounded. He always had.
"I'll get a medic." I decided, hopping off Ludwig's bed.
"Get Antonio...I mean don't get Antonio...or whatever."
"You'll get whoever I find first." I could tell Lovi just wanted to see Antonio again, even though he always denied it.
"So, what exactly went on over here, amigo?" The Spaniard asked.
Nobody spoke about the lump on the bed, the one recently covered in a white sheet. We would deal with that later.
"It's those damn Allies again. They were messing with bombs around here, and Lud and I had to jump off n to save this bastard." Obviously Lovino was back to his old self again.
"I'm sorry. It's my fault. I shouldn't have been sleeping in Ludwig's bed." I apologized.
"No. Chu didn't know it was happening." Antonio soothed.
Lovino whimpered as Toni moved his leg the wrong way.
"It doesn't look like chour gonna be walking anytime soon."
"Damn it. Now what am I gonna do, ah?"
"Rest." Antonio answered, patting Lovi on the head.
