AN: this chapter is gonna be a bunch of little time hops.
By the end of September, Rory and Logan were fully moved into the new house. The kids loved it. The boys were super excited to be sharing a room, Amelia was excited that she had glow in the dark star decals on her ceiling, courtesy of Logan.
As excited as everyone was, Rory and Logan knew that the new living arrangements were gonna take some getting used to. They would have to find some way to mix their routines to create one that worked for everyone in the house.
It took a little longer than expected, but by 8:30, all the kids were asleep. Rory and Logan were sitting on the couch, snuggled up under a blanket.
"Hey" Logan said
"What?" Rory asked
"Welcome home" He said and kissed her.
Another thing that would take some getting used to (for Logan) was Amelia. It had been a while since his son was that young and he'd almost forgotten what it was like. He was woken up around 3 in the morning by Amelia walking into their bedroom. He watched her walk over to Rory and climb into the bed next to her. He was actually surprised that Rory didn't wake up because she was a really light sleeper, but he figured she was used to Amelia climbing into her bed, and that's why she didn't wake her.
November 2019:
Somewhat to Logan's surprise, the Huntzbergers had invited Rory and her kids to thanksgiving. They'd seen Rory a few times since she and Logan got together, but they'd never met her kids. Rory's kids were with Adam, but she went. After everyone greeted everyone, Honor's kids took Oliver downstairs to where there were some games.
"You know, one time Honor was mad at me for something so she cracked 3 raw eggs on my head" Logan said. He brought it up because Josh said something about one of the kids dropping an egg on the floor.
"What?" Rory asked
"That never happened" Honor said.
"Easter 1996" Logan said
"Oh..." Honor chuckled. "Ok, it did happen, but only because you threw my beach boys CD out the window"
"Because you scratched one of mine" Logan said. "It was only fair"
"You're an idiot" Honor said. "Rory, you live you an idiot"
Rory laughed. "What did I miss out on by being an only child?"
"Being annoyed every single day of your life" Logan said.
"Why is it that you two still fight like children" Shira asked
"Because the real children left the room, so the position was open" Mitchum said
Rory chuckled. "I think I might love thanksgiving with your family" she whispered to Logan.
Christmas was spent separately. Rory took her kids to Stars Hollow, and Logan took Oliver to his parents. And Lorelai was nice enough to watch all 3 kids in New Year's Eve so that Rory and Logan could go out with their friends.
February 2020:
One Saturday, Ollie and Amelia were with Adam, and Elise took Oliver out for the day, leaving Rory and Logan with an empty house. Over the months Oliver had gotten more willing to go out with Elise. He still didn't always want to, but usually he did.
Since they had no kids with them that day, they took advantage of the time to get stuff done. Logan went to run a few errands, and while he was out Rory took advantage of a totally quiet house to work on an article she was writing.
