Chapter 13: Marriage

At the wedding reception there was no set seating. Everyone could sit wherever they wanted. Everyone was eating when Finn stood up to make a speech. "For those of you who don't know, I'm Finn, Logan's best man. Now, I was told once that the best man speech should only be as long as the groom can last in bed, so with that said, I wish you all a good night"

Everybody laughed. "Remind me to kill Finn when this is over" Logan said quietly to Rory who was laughing. She put her hand on his shoulder.

"All jokes aside, this wedding..." Finn finished his speech, Lane made one, and then everyone went back to their conversations.

"Dad" Oliver said

"Yeah, bud"

"I didn't understand Finn's joke"

"Which joke?" Logan asked. Finn had made a few joked in his speech and Logan was hoping that Oliver wasn't talking about the sex joke.

"At the beginning when everyone laughed"

"You know what? That was a very adult joke. It's not appropriate for you" Logan told him. He wasn't gonna deny that Finn's joke was funny because it was, but he also wasn't gonna explain it to his 7 year old son.

"Ok"

At some point while everyone was dancing Rory walked over to the where Lorelai was standing near the bar.

"You're done dancing?" Lorelai asked

"Just for a few minutes" Rory said as she kicked her shoes off her feet. "Whoever invented heels deserves some serious jail time"

Lorelai laughed. "You look happy"

"I am" Rory said

"Good" Lorelai said. "I hope you know that you guys are the cutest little family that ever existed"

"I don't know if I'd say that our family is little, but I'll take the compliment"

"On that note, I hate to be the person to ask, but I really want to know..."

Rory was honestly surprised that it's taken Lorelai that long to ask if she and Logan were planning on having more kids. "We might" she said and Lorelai started to get excited. "And we might not"

"You do realize that you have a bit of a time limit for that, right?"

"Mom, I've been alive for 36 years. I've had two kids. If I didn't know that by now...well that wouldn't happen"

"I'm just saying"

"You're only saying because you want another grandkid"

"Possibly" Lorelai said. She did, and it wasn't a secret.

Just then Logan appeared next to Rory and handed her a glass of champagne.

"What's this for?" Rory asked

"What do you think it's for?" Logan chuckled

"Right. Stupid question" 

Logan chuckled and kissed her quickly. 

Later on Logan and Rory were dancing, and Rory stepped on Logan's foot.

"Did I just step on your foot?" Rory asked

"Doesn't matter" Logan said

"I did. I'm so sorry"

"Don't be"

"Logan, I'm wearing heels, that had to hurt"

Logan moved his hand to her cheek and pressed his lips against hers. "If it means I get to be here, holding you like this, you can step on my feet as many times as you want"

"I love you"

"I love you too, Ace"

The day after the wedding, Ollie and Amelia went to Pittsburg with Adam and Ollie went to stay with Honor and Josh so that Rory and Logan could go on their honeymoon.

Sunday night found Rory and Logan in Hawaii, walking on the beach. They decided that somewhere warm would be nice considering that it was December and therefore freezing in New York.

"Hey, stop for a second" Logan said. He stopped walking but he didn't let go of Rory's hand.

"What's wrong?" Rory asked

Logan put his hands on Rory's waist pulled her body flush against his and kissed her deeply. "Nothing's wrong, I just wanted to kiss my wife"

Later that night Rory and Logan were cuddled up together in bed. They were just enjoying each other's company, taking advantage of the fact that they weren't in a rush. They didn't have to immediately get up and get dressed because they had kids who could knock on their door at any moment, they could just enjoy being with each other.

"Is your ring too big?" Rory asked. She was holding Logan's hand and from the angle she was at it looked like his ring was too big.

"A little bit, yeah" Logan said. "I'll get it fixed when we get home"

"How is it too big?" Rory asked. Logan was the one who went to buy both of their wedding bands, so if one of their rings wasn't gonna fit right it would be Rory's since she didn't try it on.

"Let's just say that I was a lot more focused on your ring than mine" Logan said. He actually forgot to try his wedding ring on because he was more focused on picking out the perfect ring for Rory, so the first time he tried on his ring was when Rory put it on his finger during the ceremony.

"I knew I should've bought yours" Rory said. She originally wanted to buy Logan's ring since he bought hers, but Logan didn't want her to. It wasn't about the money or anything like that, he just felt like he should be the one to buy it.

"That wasn't happening" Logan said and kissed Rory's shoulder. Not to long after that Rory fell asleep. "Good night, Ace" He whispered and kissed her cheek. "I love you"
