I don't stan JKR. I just love the books (more so the movies, don't come for me) so my Regulus may be a LOT different from your personal headcanon...

Now this being their actual first day of class, Aurora managed to be on time, to her first lesson, along with the other first year students. "Hey, Aurora" Regulus said, trying to be somewhat nice to her, although his reputation already starting and that 'cold and heartless' attitude kicking in. "Oh...hi, Regulus" she said, giving him a small smile as she held her book in her arms. Once in the room, that being potions by Professor Slughorn... Now, standing at a desk, with Regulus, on the other side was her best friend, already. Odette Davenport. Regulus noticed how close Aurora and Odette are, he admired it. Odette also known as Odie, looked to regulus, extending her hand to shake his hand "Odette Davenport" she, officially introduced herself. Regulus shook her hand being polite.
In the meantime, the Marauders; Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs were having the times of their lives, bullying Severus snape. Lily was doing her homework as they all had a morning off, that also meant she'd be seeing Serveus soon enough. What a lovely start to the year at hogwarts.
[Back to Slughorn's class] Regulus, almost always kept staring at Aurora, he just couldn't help it. Something about her fascinated him, he quickly looked away, smiling to himself. One person noticed this smile of his, that happened to be Odette. Aurora was too busy focusing on the class too notice, a few questions were asked, happened to be some of Aurora's. You could say she was rather good at it but in all fact, she dislikes potions... Pandora, who had been sitting next to Odette, she looked over to see Aurora struggling, Pandora is already one of the best people for potions. "Are you struggling there, Aurora?" Pandora asked. Aurora looked over to Pandora, giving a small smile. "A little, yeah" she said.
[ a few weeks into the year, everyone's settled in and all, it's coming up to first quidditch match of the year]
Regulus, mostly stuck by his two favourite Hufflepuffs and his favourite Ravenclaw, mainly the Hufflepuffs though. Aurora didn't understand how or why he did, but that's another question for another day. Aurora also didn't quite understand what the obsession with quidditch was but she will watch anyway. The match of course being Gryffindor vs Slytherin. After the match, Aurora felt a piece of paper, a note fall, it had brushed against her leg as she was putting her robes on. She had recognised the hand writing as Regulus' so she picked it up, to Read it.
