"No way, you fucking go girl!" Valerie let's out a yelp of excitement, I told her all about my little dispute with Bryan in english and quite frankly I was proud of myself.

Not to say that I don't stand up for myself, it's just rare that I get an audience that's there to witness it. It's usually just Justin and his boyfriends.

"Yeah yeah, whatever!" I roll my eyes sarcastically at Valerie, if anyone was my biggest hype woman it would be her. I could tell her that I successfully cooked a TV dinner without burning it and she would throw a celebration.

Valerie and I meet up with Jack in the lunchroom, dragging ourselves through the line to get a couple scraps of slop that we'll barely look at.

"Jesus christ guys, can you believe it's been a month.. A MONTH since i've gotten laid." Jack complains to us.

Valerie and I both love Jack dearly, he's like a brother.. But the downside of having a guy as one of your best friends is the fact that we're the ones to hear about his next meaningless hookup, or in this case lack of.

Valerie and I groan as we slide into our seats at the table we chose to sit at. "Jack I love you but do I really need to know the timespan in which your last hookup was?" I ask with a displeased expression on my face.

Jack looks at me like i've just spoke ill on his entire bloodline. "Uhm.. yeah?" he asks as if he's genuinely confused at the question I just asked.

I sigh before turning over to Valerie. "Hey is the new kid in any of your classes?" I ask trying to make it seem casual.

She pauses for a moment, "Actually, no.." she shrugs it off before jack butts in, interrupting as usual.

"Yeah I have him in science, he hasn't spoke a single word to anyone at all this past week.. It's fucking strange." he adds with an eyebrow slightly raised.

"Yeah you're probably right about that, I have him for first period and he never speaks. Or rarely looks up from his desk." I say softly almost as if he can hear me.

"Yeah well who knows." Jack shrugs before his eyes widen a bit while he's taking a sip of his water.

"Oh yeah, you guys ready to get shitfaced tonight or what?!" he asks eagerly.

"Am i ready?! I already taste the liquor on my tongue." Valerie coos as if she's already had half the bottle of Titos.

I groan a bit, "guys do we seriously have to go to this.. I mean can't we just all three drink at home like we used to?" I sigh, dreading the thought of having to go to Justin's house. Let alone have to be around that many drunk assholes.

"YOU'RE GOING SCARLETT!" Valerie and Jack both say at the same time.

"Alright alright, i'll go.. but i'm not drinking!" I add. "Besides, someone needs to drive to and from right?"

Valerie and Jack both nod as if i'm correct but also don't like the thought of me missing out on the drinking.

There's not much to miss out on really, besides i'd rather have one of us be sober.. Justin's parties aren't exactly the best place for three friends to be drunk unsupervised.

We all three throw our full trays away before starting to make our way towards the hallways.

"First party of the fuckin' year let's go boyssss!" Jack exclaims as he pretends to punch us both in the stomach.

"You're so embarrassing, you're starting to sound like justin. Get to class Sullivan!" I say followed by mine and Valerie's loud chuckles.

Valerie, Jack, and I decided to all meet at mine after school to get ready. We also agreed on taking my car so it made perfect sense.

I get home and as usual my mother is at work, and my brother went to his dads for the weekend. I liked having the house to myself most days, but it felt lonely after a while.

Shortly after getting home Valerie and Jack arrive and bang on my door like madmen, almost knocking my socks off.

I rush downstairs before opening the door, "so do you guys not know how to knock on someone door like normal people?" I ask stepping aside to let them in.

"Nope we don't actually!" Valerie says followed with a laugh. We immediately go up to my room to start getting ready.

"Valerie please tell me you brought your eyelash curler, you know yours is ten times better than mine."

"Girl you use this thing more than I do.." She pulls it out of her makeup bag, handing it to me. I notice Jack sitting on the bed on his phone and I nudge him.

"Are you gonna get ready or sit around?" I ask as I start prepping my face for makeup.

"Dude I'm ready, it's you guys who take four hours ditty dallying around." He looks between the two of us. Yeah he was right, but he should know that's the norm by now.

"Yeah whatever you say.." Valerie says, touching up her lipstick in the mirror we're both sharing.

For some reason, I can't get the new boy out of my head. After the little speech I gave in English, I caught his stare. Maybe it was coincidental, but we definitely held eye contact for longer than we needed to. I brush it off and continue to get ready.

...

7:30 comes around, Valerie and I had just barely finished getting ready. I slip on a dark red tight dress that sits nicely on my curves, paired with black pumps.

I have my hair nicely curled, my long blonde hair sitting perfectly at my waist. "Do I look okay?" I ask Valerie hesitantly.

She turns around to look at me, examining me up and down. "Scarlett you look hot!" She says as she walks by and slaps my ass, causing me to laugh.

"Don't you think Jack?" Valerie asks giving him a side eye.

"Dude she's like my sister, calling her hot is literally like saying I'm inbred." His comment causes me and Valerie to burst out in laughter.

"Do I look okay?" Valerie says turning to me. I do the same as her, looking her up and down.

Valerie's wearing an all black dress, paired with simple black heels. Her hair in a straightened ponytail.

"You look amazing as usual Val." I give her a smile, admiring her. Valerie was a beautiful girl, she didn't even have to try and people gawked over her constantly.

"Jesus christ can we goooo now?" Jack says, whining to us. I don't blame him, I'm sure he was tired of sitting around and waiting for two women to get ready for a party.

"Yeah yeah come on let's go." I roll my eyes, as we're walking out of the door I text my mom.

Momma:
Hey mom, I'm gonna go to a little get together. I might be out a little late. Love you!!!

I send the text message before putting my phone away and walking out of the house right after Valerie and Jack.
