After the movie night Valerie and I fell asleep on the couch. Instead of waking us up, my mom threw a blanket over us and called it a night.

"I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE DOING XANDER!"

Valerie and I are suddenly awoke at the sound of my mom scolding my brother, thank god for that because it woke us up in time to get ready for senior sunrise.

I rub my eyes and sit up, my eyes cracked open as I see my mom chasing my brother down the stairs.

I look over at Valerie and she looks back at me before we slowly get up.

"What the hell did he do now?" I ask, dragging my feet as they touch the hardwood floor.

"Well, your brother decided to sneak a girl in through his window last night. And the new cameras I just installed caught every last bit of it." My mom says, looking at my brother with anger behind her eyes.

Valerie and I look at each other once again and can't help but burst out into laughter.

"I will deal with you later Xander, after football practice you are to come STRAIGHT HOME! No Xbox or anything like that." She says as she storms off back upstairs to start getting ready for work I'm assuming.

My brother looks at Valerie and I like a crazy person had just attacked him brutally.

"If you're going to sneak a girl in you need to be more smart about it, kid." Valerie says, patting his shoulder as she walks by.

"No shit.." I say following behind her, laughing to myself.

I mean, my brother had just turned fifteen. If he wanted a girl over all he had to do was ask, I'm sure my mom would make him keep the door open but it's better than getting caught doing it behind her back.

Once we get to my room, I fall onto my bed. I really didn't want to get up today, but I also didn't want to miss senior sunrise.. But it was WAY too early, it was still pretty much dark outside.

Valerie flicks through my closet and picks something comfortable, the weather was getting colder which meant hoodies and sweats.. My favorite time of year.

As I thought she picked a pair of grey sweatpants and one of my white hoodies.

"Scarlett if you don't get your lazy ass up and get ready we're going to be late!" She says as she grabs my brush and starts combing through her thick brunette hair.

"Ugh.." I groan as I use my remaining strength to get up and walk towards my closet.

I decided on black leggings and a baby blue crewneck, matched with light blue Converse.

I think shoes are my addiction, I had a pair of converse in every color imaginable.

We finishing doing what we need to do to finish getting ready and rush out to my car to head out, the sun was just starting to rise meaning we were just in time.

Once we get to the school we sit in my car for a bit, waiting until the sun rose more for us to get out. I don't think either of us were looking forward to the cold.

My anxiety started to rise a bit, it wasn't bad now but I knew once more people started to arrive it would get worse.

My anxiety came in waves, some days I was completely fine and other days the thought of being around anyone made my chest tight and my palms clammy.

Just as I thought, cars started to rush in and I felt my chest thump.

Valerie spotted Jack which was our queue to get out and face everyone, which made me queasy at the thought.
