I'm having the most peaceful sleep of my life, heavenly in fact. But that's soon interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing.
With my eyes still closed, I feel around my bed for my phone and once I find it I crack open an eye just enough to see who's calling.
An incoming FaceTime from Valerie, I set my phone back down on my bed and lay back down before answering.
I can almost smell the spearmint gum she's smacking on through the screen, I sigh before finding my voice this early in the morning.
"What Val?" I ask, a croak to my tone as I rub my eyes.
"Bitch wake the hell up, if you wanted to catch a ride with me today I'd get your grumpy ass out of bed."
I groan at the thought of getting out from under this warm comfort, before I can say anything else Valerie continues again.
"I WILL call Michelle.." she threatens and I scoff.
She really would.
"Oh and also guess what?" She chirps up once again, I'll never understand how that woman can be so chipper in the morning.
"What?" I almost yawn out as I sit up in my bed, stretching as I finally pick up the phone so she can actually see me.
Of course she's already all dressed up, she looks like a doll. Her dark hair framing her face perfectly, and her full face of makeup that I'm sure she took a while to perfect, although she doesn't need it.
"After the other night Dominik followed me on insta, I followed him back.. Was that a good idea?"
The thought of the other night drains me of any sleepiness I had left.
I shrug slightly "I mean it's probably innocent, it doesn't matter too much."
She smiles softly, her small dimples poking through. "Yeah you're probably right."
She looks at me as if she were examining me in great depth, followed with a small giggle.
Before I can ask her what the hell is so funny she interrupts me.
"You got a little something right there.." She points to the side of her cheek insinuating me to check myself.
I look into the camera and see a drool mark, like I said the sleep was heavenly.
I roll my eyes and wipe my face, "oh HA HA!" I say sarcastically rolling my eyes.
She laughs once again, "cheer up buttercup, I'll be there in thirty." She blows a kiss before hanging up the phone.
Before I can even go to set my phone back down I get another FaceTime call, this time from Jack.
I pick it up and stare into the abyss waiting for him to say something.
"Hey can I catch a ride with you today? My dad took my car to work because his is in the shop."
"I'm catching a ride with Valerie today, I'll tell her to get you before she gets me."
"Okie dokie, also.. I have a little tiny favor- or I guess question to ask of you."
Oh great! I just know this can't be good.
I raise one eyebrow and look at him, waiting for him to continue.
"So, you know how your moms taking that trip out of town with your aunt this weekend?" He asks somewhat nervously.
"Yeah.. why?" I ask suspiciously.
"Okay hear me out, do you think we could have a small get together this weekend? Have a couple drinks?"
