It's only been a week of school and I've made one friend, it's not a lot.. but it's more than enough for me. Dominik introduced himself to me in math class.
The only reason I actually put my energy into making conversation with him is because I could tell he was nothing like any of the dickhead jocks.
Today at school he had mentioned a party, at first I refused because I could care less about watching a bunch of people get drunk. But I really had nothing else to do, I mean I didn't always have to sit at home and wallow away.
I fix my hair up, making it look perfect. I throw on a black button down shirt, leaving the top three unbuttoned and I throw on some dark wash jeans, pairing them with black and white Nike dunks.
I look out of my window to see a Toyota Corolla and I figured it was Dominik. Just then I get a message on my phone.
Dom:
Hey man I'm outside.I turn off my phone and make my way outside, hopping into his car.
...
It's about an hour or so into the party at this point, Dominick ran off with some girl leaving me to fend for myself.
I always told myself, things are only awkward if you make them awkward. I walk over to the drink table and start making myself a drink.
Before I can even reach the table I feel someone slam into me with some force, I spin around and to my surprise it's blondie.
She starts to apologize before she notices me, she stops herself before staring up at me with those big blue eyes of hers.
I don't know what comes over me, but for some reason this whole interaction pissed me off. "Watch where you're going, clutz." I blurt out and she looks up at me almost in shock, she starts to walk away before before facing me again.
"All have you know.." she continues and I'm not even listening to what shes saying as I stare down at her. Her pink plump lips, slurring her words as she bickers at me drunkenly.
I snap out of it just as her friend is pulling her away from me, clearly not wanting to start conflict and trying to stop her friend from drunkenly yelling at a random man.
I meant what I said though, she was being a clutz. I knew she was heavily intoxicated but Jesus Christ watch where you're going, if you can't handle your alcohol don't drink.
I walk away, passing crowds of people as I weave through them. I finally find Dominik, still talking with some girl. He spots me and waves me over.
I make my way towards them, leaning against the wall in the kitchen as I approach. "Hey man, this is Christina." I nod my head.
"Levi." I say barely looking up at either of them. I hated being introduced to new people. I'm not one of those 'I hate everyone' people but.. well fuck what am I saying I am.
Dominik tries to break the awkward silence, "So, you having fun?" He asks as he turns to face me. I finally lift my head up and look at him.
"Yeah, it's alright I guess.. parties aren't much of my thing though if I'm being honest." I let out a soft chuckle.
"Yeah, I hear ya man." He says before Christina cuts off the conversation by kissing the side of Dominick's neck.
I take this as my queue to go and I nod at Dominik before patting his shoulder, "Enjoy man." I chuckle to myself as I walk away.
Another half hour goes by and I've actually been mingling with a few girls, I haven't had much alcohol so it was weird for me but I'm definitely not complaining.
