"And tell me why I literally-" Valerie's voice trails off and I really am trying to listen but I'm extremely fixated on what's in front of me.

I take bite out of my red apple as I stare at Levi, he's nodding his head at whatever Dominik is saying. He cracks a smile as well as Dominik's friend Ray. Apparently Dominik was rather funny, but I'm not laughing.

"Scarlett, are you listening to me?" Valerie asks in an annoyed tone, causing me to snap out of my cruel daydream.

Truthfully I wanted to walk right up to Levi and smack him, I tried to let it go but he really knows how to piss me off without doing anything.

Well, besides the fact that he's been ignoring me for two whole weeks now.

I don't even realize how hard I'm gripping my apple as Valerie's words echo through my head.

"Scarlett! You really need to stop worrying so much about him, he obviously was never worth your time. He's an asshole just like the rest."

"Yeah.." I take another bite of my apple before turning to her. "I guess you're right, but the fact that he's sitting there enjoying himself makes me want to pour this orange juice right over his head."

Valerie snickers slightly, "He's not worth it, I mean look at him."

Yeah, look at him.

The way his midnight hair is always fucking perfect.

How his lips curl into a smirk without him realizing it.

How his toned body looks like it wants to burst out of his black shirt.

I fucking hate him but I can't get enough.

"You know you're right, I won't forgive.. More like forget." I force a smile before I drop my apple onto my tray full of food that shouldn't even be legal to serve.

"Shit, what were you saying earlier?" I feel a bit guilty that I wasn't listening.

"Oh it was nothing, I don't even really remember." She gives a half smile, but not insinuating that she's upset about it.

I shrug before we both get up and throw the remainder of our food away, not that we even so much as looked at it.

"Why didn't Jack come to school today?" I ask, realizing I hadn't seen him all day.

"Oh he's super sick, he came down with a super bad stomach bug." She says with a small frown.

"That kid and his immune system, when is he not sick?" I snicker, but it was the honest truth.

Valerie let's out a small laugh as we return back to our table from what seemed like a long walk to the garbage bin and back.

Valerie clears her throat, "Someone seems to be looking at you.."

I know exactly who she's talking about and I turn my head to find a pair of emerald green eyes staring back at me.

We lock eyes and he gives me an almost pleading look but I don't budge, instead I give him a glare.

Im quickly interrupted.

"Hey ladies, how are we doing?" Justin's pearly whites flashing Valerie and I both.

"We're great! And how about you?" Valerie asks with a cheeky grin, almost blushing.

I don't say anything, instead I look over at a fellow jock friend of Justin's, Dre.

He was the nicest out of the bunch, don't get me wrong he was still an asshole but that's because he had to be in order to fit in.

"Hey Scarlett." Dre smiles, his whites even pearlier than Justin's.
