Sunoo's POV

Armed with a makeshift metal rod, I trudge alongside Chaewon, following Sunghoon through the desolate streets. The eerie silence is occasionally broken by our footsteps and the distant moans of the undead.

I can't help but crack a nervous joke, "You know," I quip, trying to lighten the mood, "I'm starting to think Sunghoon might be some kind of zombie lord, leading us to their secret kingdom to be eaten. I don't want to be zombie food please."

Sunghoon maintains his serious demeanor, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "Well, you caught me. It's the only way to survive, you know? Join the undead or be their dinner. But remember, zombie lords prefer fresh meat."

Chaewon grins, playing along, "Oh fuck, he's definitely eating Sunoo first."

Surprised by the comment, I bumped her shoulder. We all share a laugh, trying to lighten the tension that hangs in the air. The apocalypse brings strange companions and even stranger humor.

We arrive at an abandoned building, its windows shattered, and its walls whispering stories of a bygone era. We carefully and quietly made our way to the entrance.

Then suddenly, Sunghoon steps on a hidden string, causing cans tied to the ceiling to clang together "Fuck..." He whispered under his breath. The sound echoes, and within seconds, the distant moans become an approaching horde.

"Run!" Sunghoon yelled, and we sprinted for the stairs. The clattering noise had attracted zombies, and they were closing in fast Panic sets in as we sprint inside, desperately seeking refuge.

"They heard that!" I exclaim, as we hurry up a narrow staircase at the back of the building. We can hear the relentless footsteps of the approaching horde echoing behind. Cornered in a narrow hallway, we find ourselves at a locked door. Chaewon, fierce and determined, swings her metal rod, fending off the encroaching zombies.

She continued to fend off the zombies, but the situation grew dire. Just when it felt like the end, the locked door creaked open, and a stranger's hand pulled us inside.

"Get in quick!" a familiar voice urged, and we stumbled into the room. The door slammed shut behind us, muffling the growls of the hungry horde outside.

The door clicked shut, and I could finally catch my breath. Two men swiftly moved a cabinet against the door, holding it back as the distant growls of the undead echoed in the hallway.

Sunghoon rushed over, concern etched on his face. "Are you two okay?"

Chaewon and I exchanged glances, a silent acknowledgment of the close call. "Y-Yeah, w-we're fine," I replied, still processing the narrow escape.

In the dimly lit room, I scanned the faces of the strangers who had just saved us. Amidst them, I spotted Heeseung, Sunghoon's classmate from before all this chaos began.

As the tension eased, one of the young men exclaimed, "Hey, she's got a wound on her arm!" All eyes turned to Chaewon, her composure unwavering.

"Yeah, I got bitten," she admitted, her voice steady. "But, I don't feel anything."

The room fell silent for a moment, the weight of Chaewon's revelation hanging in the air. The young man frowned, his worry evident. "We should let her out. It's too risky."

Instantly, I stepped forward, my defense instinct kicking in. "No! We treated her wound. Sunghoon can vouch for it. We're not leaving her behind."

Sunghoon nodded in agreement, supporting my stance. "They did everything they could. She's not turning into one of them."

"But what if she does turn? While we're not aware? While we're sleeping? She could turn any moment." The young man insisted.
