Sunoo's POV
"HELP ME HERE!" Heeseung's urgent shout pierced the air, prompting Jay, Jake, and Sunghoon to rush toward him, determined to disarm the man. Meanwhile, I hurried to Jungwon and the girl's side, only to be greeted by a gruesome sight, the mother lying on the floor, blood staining the floor, a knife embedded in her back.
Heeseung and the others struggled for control of the shotgun, and Niki stood frozen in terror, his eyes wide and his body shaking. "NIKI GET DOWN!"
*BANG*
A deafening blast echoed through the room, the shotgun fired, sending Niki sprawling backward, because of the accidental discharge. Seizing the opportunity, Heeseung snatched the shotgun, retaliating with a shot that killed the man.
Amidst the chaos, my attention shifted to Niki, wounded and bleeding on the floor. Desperation clawed at me as I hastily removed my school jacket, attempting to stanch the flow of blood from his stomach and chest. "Help us!" I shouted, urgency lacing my voice as I beckoned the others to help.
Together, we managed to carry Niki to a nearby table, Sunghoon finding medical supplies salvaged from our encounters in this unforgiving world. The dim light flickering as we focused on treating Niki's wounds.
"He's losing so much fucking blood," Jake remarked, his voice tense.
"Just keep that cloth, apply pressure to stop the bleeding." Sunghoon added, his hands steady as he worked alongside us.
Amidst the urgency, Heeseung's voice broke through, "Don't let him be unconscious, We need to save him."
I looked at Heeseung, who was looking at Jungwon and the girl, and that look was very unforgiving. I quickly fixed my attention back at Niki, who was still fighting to be conscious.
After some time, Niki was now stabilized, I dragged Hanni and Jungwon to our room, a wave of urgency propelling my steps. Once inside, I demanded an explanation for the chaotic events that had unfolded.
"What the hell happened?" I pressed, my gaze shifting between Jungwon's strained breaths and Hanni's shaken body.
Jungwon, struggling to find his words, managed to utter, "I... Heeseung..." before trailing off.
Hanni stepped in, her voice steady. "Heeseung wanted the basement all for himself. My father disagreed and my mother also came out, so my dad grabbed the shotgun to scare Heeseung, but I heard Heeseung say..." She hesitated, glancing toward the doorway.
Following her gaze, I saw Heeseung standing there, his face marked by traces of blood and turmoil. "We need to talk," he declared, his words carrying a sense of urgency. "We're leaving tomorrow to find another place to stay. Bring that girl."
The room fell into a heavy silence, the implications of Heeseung's decision echoing in the still air. "Leaving?" I questioned, the word hanging between us.
Heeseung nodded, his expression firm. "Do you want to stay with the dead bodies? We need to find a safer place." He said before leaving.
"Stay here first okay, we'll just talk with the other boys." I said to Hanni as she nodded. I grabbed Jungwon's hand outside.
The room was shrouded in an uneasy silence, punctuated only by the weighty presence of the deceased, as Heeseung's spoke. "That girl is also untrustable."
Not being able to keep my opinions to myself, I blurted out. "And why not? How could you say so?"
After looking at the bodies of the father and mother at the floor, "She came from untrustable people," Heeseung asserted, his gaze locking onto mine with an unsettling intensity.
