As August was coming to an end children all over Coldblurne had to prepare for their first week of school. For some kids they started high school and elementary school, these kids were starting middle school, in Coldblurne Middle School. That was the news that was circulating around, but it wasn't the only thing people were talking about. The weather around the whole county was acting different than it usually was at the end of August.
Most of the time the temperature would go down to 70 degrees or a little bit lower. Instead it was above 70 degrees. It wasn't something people expected or liked. Students who were getting to their classes in the morning were wearing shirts and shorts. However some students had no affect on how the weather was.
One of them was walking up to her class dressed in a bright orange blouse with a dark purple sweater over it, grey shorts, and black and white basketball shoes holding her purple rolling backpack to a small really enclosed classroom where she was supposed to be after her first class witch was PE. As she walked up a lady wearing a burgundy pantsuit and her red black hair put up in a bun with glasses on opens up the door shocked to see the student already ready to go into class.
"Hello there!" The lady says with a vector filled with paper and a giant smile on her face.
"Hi. Is this for social studies?" The girl shyly asked.
"It is. What's your name?"
"Umm Lily Driscoll." She stuttered while gripping her backpack handle. "Um, are you Mrs. Clemonte?"
"Yes, darling I am. Go take a seat, while the other students come."
"Ok, thank you." Once Lily walked in the classroom seeing a wide-open room with a double whiteboard, and big windows that could let the students see almost the whole camps.
Right underneath the windows were some textbooks with cupboards right underneath the desks too. At the back of the classroom was a big dark brown dresser like a cupboard filled with school supplies next to a storage closet with other random supplies and another door inside. The storage closet was also next to the teacher's desk where some cupboards were floating or hanging on the wall.
After admiring the scene, Lily quickly found a seat in the middle back. While waiting for some of her classmates to enter she starts to get ready for class and sees out the window sprinkles of rain coming down slowly.
"Hello what's your name, dear?" She suddenly heard Mrs. Clemonte speak.
Lily turned her attention to a skinny white colored boy with short black wavy dressed in tanned shorts with a blue t-shirt and dark blue Nike shoes wearing blue glasses starts talking to the teacher. "Vincent Krii" He responded.
"Ok Vincent, come on in and pick a seat." Mrs. Clemonte responded.
Vincent then walked in the classroom while Lily looks away before he notices her looking at him.
He ended up sitting in the back, but to the right of Lily. There was silence before the teacher spoke. "Hello there sweetheart!"
"Hi!" It turned out to be a girl responded very heavily and out of breath.
"And what's your name?"
"Rayne Merka."
Mrs. Clemonte looked at her papers to search her name. "Oh yes, Rayne come on in and take a seat. Class will start soon."
As the girl Rayne walked into the classroom she sat right to the left of Lily.
As Rayne settled in her seat, she started to bring out her pencil case and a notebook. It gave Lily the idea that she should get her supplies out. What was surprising was that she realized that she already had her purple mechanical pencil in her hand. She didn't know how it got there. She didn't remember her getting it out before, or even using it last class. It was PE!
After Lily shrugged it off the school bell had rung while a boy with a Nike jacket runs towards Mrs. Clemonte in a rush.
"Oh hello there!" She said.
"Hi! Hi! Sorry I am late." The boy apologized, clearly short of breath.
"It's quite alright darling." She flips a couple of pages. "Now what's your name?"
He had enough energy to stand up straight answering "Um George Hirsh."
"Okay George come on in and pick a seat." Mrs. Clemonte instructed.
"All right students! My name is Mrs. Mrs. Clemonte. Welcome to Second block Social Studies!" The students nerves dialed down as they started to pay attention to the teacher's introduction and directions for the day.
Like all students dread on the first day or week of school, they had to do introductions of themselves for a few minutes then talk to one another, to hopefully learn something about each other. Once Mrs. Clemonte was satisfied with them starting to get along, she assigned the students with their first, but easy activity of the class.
While they were busy with the assignment, Mrs, Clemonte decided to inform some of her connections on her findings. One of them that she had to contact privately was, The Instructor.
"Got students occupied. Looks like they are the ones."
The Instructor responded with, "The Really? Just after minutes of class starting?"
"I know. But I can feel the energy just radiating from them. They weren't even that nervous of talking to one another. They seem comfortable."
It took longer than the other texts for her contact to respond. "Okay, we'll talk more later. I'll see how they are with me."
Mrs, Clemonte looked up, seeing on how most of the kids were finished, but some looked like they were struggling. She looked back down at her phone and texted. "Got it." Before walking over and offering to help those in need.
There has been a lot of weird stuff that people have been noticing, even the time. Students and teachers have been whispering and gossiping on how the days have seem to be going by a lot faster these days. It was more talked about in schools since gossip goes around like wild fire way easier.
It was both a curse and a blessing that time seemed to go faster. The blessing was that the students got to get out earlier than they thought for brunch.
Like every hungry kid, the students from Mrs. Clemonte's students started to pack up and head on out of the classroom. Lily head out on the right to look for her friends. While Vincent ran left the opposite way to get some food from the hot lunch line, but suddenly noticed that he was running faster then he usually does. He stopped for a moment standing in the middle of the hallway in between the electives rooms and the hot lunch line.
He takes a look at his dark blue Nike shoes and thought, "Wow I didn't even run that much this summer." His eyes then glanced towards the hot lunch line which got way bigger than the last time he saw it. His mind erased the thought of him running really fast and went back to him needing to get some food.
