The night sky was not it's natural black. It was light pink, with no clouds or stars. There was not even a moon in sight. At least, not where Rayne could see. Usually her dreams are quick and animated. Lately, her dreams have been just standing in a forest where the big trees were fairly separated from one another and the ominous pink night sky above her, or she thinks it's night.
She has been wondering what these dreams were, but since nothing else went on, she didn't think to ask anyone about what they could mean. Now something was different. The forest was bigger all around her.
"Near." A voice echoed. It was neither a male or a women's voice. She thought she heard it in her head, but she heard it from all around her. She didn't know where it came from.
All of a sudden, when Rayne was searching for where that voice came from, wind pushed her hair towards the right of her. She never felt wind in her dreams before, not even these. It didn't even give her goosebumps.
"Near." The voice came back, and she heard it come from the same side that the wind blew in. She felt like she had to follow it.
As she traveled towards the direction, Rayne noticed that there were no bushes, leaves, not even animals walking or crawling around. She knew it wasn't just a normal forest. The trees were tall and looked like they were all the same size from where Rayne was walking. The leaves were all green no other colors and bunched up in one big group. She couldn't make out what they were, even though she had a fond with nature.
After walking for a short time, Rayne spotted something that didn't look like it was even a small tree, or not even a plant at all. Taking a closer look at it, it seemed like it could be a human figure! Once she slowly walked closer to this figure, Rayne finally got a suspicion to who it was.
"George?" She called out, questionably. If she was correct and if it was him, her mind would come up with a lot more questions.
Hearing her voice made him turn around and with his eyes widening. "Rayne?"
After spotting what it looked to be her classmate, George Hirsh, Rayne jolted awake from her slumber, already feeling sweat all over her body. Once she opened her eyes, she immediately saw sun pouring into her room from her window. She then looked over to her bedside nightstand to check the time, it was 7:10.
Rayne slowly got ready for school, while still processing last nights dream. She's never had a dream so vivid and feel so real before, at least not what she can remember. After the whole week, she hasn't had any dreams about the friends she made or the classmates she has met.
Rayne suddenly heard a ding coming from her IPad. She hurried to her desk and opened up her iPad to see a notification for her email. It was sent from George Hirsh. Her heart sunk. George was really in her dream? And he saw her?
She soon opened up the email with it reading, "Hey Rayne, I don't know if you remember me from social studies or math class, but I wanted to talk about something you, something really important and urgent. Can we talk before school in the quad? I'll wait for you there if you do choose to talk. -George."
After reading the email, Rayne's speculations could be right, or wrong. George could have been dreaming and have been in her dream, and wanted to talk about it with her, or he could be wanting to talk about something else urgent. However, the two barely have talked to one another during the first week. All the words that they have exchanged was hello's and talked a little bit about each other. All she got was that he loves sports, especially basketball. She would have guessed from watching him beat a couple of guys in a game during Brunch. What would George want to talk about if it wasn't the dream?!
"Rayne! Your breakfast is getting cold!" Her mom shouting from the kitchen brought her out of her thoughts. She's going to have to think about this whole dream thing on her way to school.
On the drive to school, Rayne thought of things to ask or at least say to George. Did he see her? Was he dreaming her or was she dreaming him? Did he want to talk about something else and not the dream? So many things came into mind, that she didn't realize that she arrived at school.
After saying her goodbye to her mom, she walked over to the quad with her legs starting to shake with nervousness. At this point she didn't care what the conversation is going to be about, now she just hopes that it ends somewhat well.
"Thank god you got my email." George sighed with relief as he was sitting on one of the gray colored steel benches.
"How'd you get it anyway?" Rayne asked.
"We share some periods together. We can access other classmates emails."
"Why did you want to meet up?" She crossed her arms over her chest.
"You're seriously asking me that?" He leaned closer to her to whisper. "After what...what we saw last night?"
Rayne's eyes widened. "So it was you?! You were in my dream!"
George slouched his shoulders, disappointed. "And you were in mine."
"How?" Rayne gasped.
"I have no idea. I thought since you are pretty smart, you might know something that is causing all of this."
"I'm not that smart! I don't even know what that place we were standing in was!"
"Could there be, I don't, other people dealing with this too?" George suggested.
Rayne sighed. She didn't think about that possibility the whole time! "Hopefully, so they won't think we are crazy, cause a lot of other people will."
"Maybe there is." George said with a bit of hope.
Rayne looked at him, confused. "What?"
He stood up from the bench. "Maybe there are others who are having the same dreams, but we haven't seen them yet."
"Who?"
"The other guys who share classes with us."
Raynes eyes widened with realization. She figured out what or who they needed to talk to. They needed to find Lily and Vincent.
