The students quickly regretted not going back to their homes when Mrs. Vesper advised them to. They weren't able to get much sleep as they wanted to or needed for the day. Their minds were filled with curiosity and nervousness for Mrs. Vesper, that they couldn't fall asleep till hours after they got back their homes. Did they want to know who they really are? Starting a new school and 6th grade were already big deals, that they had to deal with and worry about. Did they want to worry about what else is happening to them.
They all knew that the next morning was definitely going to be a challenge. While they should have been working on their classwork or needed to do some activities in PE, all they wanted to do was sleep in their beds. Nothing was so exciting to keep them awake, not until they got to their class with Mrs. Clemonte. Their minds were full on awake with questions following the night before.
"You guys really couldn't tell us the truth?" George kept pressuring them.
Mrs. Clemente sighed as she stood in the front of the class. "No, George. We couldn't."
"Not at the time at least." Mrs. Melantha added, sitting at a table behind the students.
"Is not wanting to talk about it during school hours the only excuse you guys have?" Vincent groaned as he slouched in his chair.
"It is one of our reasons." Mrs. Melantha answered.
Rayne then asked. "What are those other 'reasons' then?"
"That you wouldn't be able to think straight in your other classes if we told you while working on your classwork."
George arched a brow. "Seriously?"
"Yup."
He sat up from his slouching in his seat and asked. "Well, can you guys explain what the heck is going on then?"
"That's for Mrs.Vesper to do." Mrs. Clemonte proclaimed.
"Why?" Rayne then asked. "What makes her so high and mighty that she knows everything, even when you guys might?"
"She will also explain that once you see her. Just trust her and remember she will tell you what she can. Now, have you guys caught up to Chapter 6?" The kids hoped that being patient and waiting for their questions to be answered would be worth it.
They thought they would be loud and enthusiastic about learning 'who they really are', but were too exhausted to say anything when they entered Mrs. Vespers classroom.
"How are you all doing?" Her tone sounded like she did not remember what happened the night before. It got them more annoyed.
"Peachy." Vincent responded more sarcastically than the others.
"Fine." Lily sighed.
"Tired." George groaned as he sat at his seat and put his head down.
"I did want you guys to leave right away to get some sleep." Mrs. Vesper reminded them.
"We couldn't because of this stuff happening to us, that no one is explaining!" Rayne yelled with all the annoyance she and the three have built up from these past few days.
Mrs. Vespers eyebrows furrowed as she stood up from her seat. "Did Mrs. Clemonte or Mrs. Melantha say anything?"
"No." Vincent sighed and answered for the four of them. "All they said was that we should trust you and that you would tell us what you can."
She nodded, while leaning against the white board. "That is very true."
"So, please tell us whatever you have to say." George was able to lift his head a bit up to beg.
