Niall
I walked away from Emily, not wanting to leave. I’d had so much fun. She didn’t recognize me, and that was the beauty of the whole day. All I’d wanted was to feel a little more average, and she’d given me that opportunity. I didn’t regret asking her out, nor did I regret spending that money. I may have just found my princess, and if that was the case, I was going to spoil her! As I walked, I pulled my phone out of my pocket to see who had texted me.
From: Liam
Nialler, where you at mate?
My fingers glided over the screen as I replied back to Liam.
To: Liam
Just at the mall. Met a girl :) ‘sup lad?
I replaced my phone in my pocket and continued to my Range Rover, pulling the keys out and unlocking the door for myself. I got lost in my thoughts again, thinking about how perfect the day had been. I definitely felt better, aside from being hungry. I had it bad; I’d given up a date with food for a date with a girl. What was happening to me? My phone buzzed again.
From: Liam
A girl? :D I’m proud of you!
There he goes sounding like my dad again. I replied before I pulled out of the parking lot.
To: Liam
Yes, Li, a girl. Her name’s Emily. I’ve actually got a date set for tomorrow night.
I found myself smiling to myself at the thought of her. Nothing was going to ruin this. I turned up the music, and sang along to Boomerang by The Summer Set, as I made my way to Nando’s. I hadn’t eaten all day, and my stomach was starting to growl. I could feel a headache coming on, but despite that I was still happy because for the first time, I felt like I was special. I felt wanted. Emily made me feel wanted, and that was enough for me.
