I was so overwhelmed with all this new knowledge I couldn't handle it alone. I did the only thing I could do. I called Shelby.

Shelby is a good sport and listens without interrupting me. "Did he really say that?!" She asks. I can hear the icy tone leaving her voice and she doesn't even have a sour look on her face anymore. Alex may be her ex but she can't help but be my best friend and best friends get excited for each other. And, this is a big moment for me. She is happy for me no matter who the boy is. Shelby can't help but be excited about my first boyfriend. Well. . . .would be first boyfriend. "Yeah I say happily, despite the fact that he will probably never talk to me again after this. Shelby can't help herself and giggles from behind me, where she has started to braid my hair. "Thanks for coming." I say sincerely. "Its no problem." She responds, but I don't think she really understands. "No I'm serious!" "I know!" I groan frustrated before trying to continue "Its different. You're technically not even my friend anymore but you still came after I told you what happened. You even convinced your mom to let you stay over for the whole weekend. And all I ever did was kiss your ex boyfriend!" As soon as I finish Shelby bursts out laughing and says, "I had to come! You were crying. And, I've been thinking that I definitely over reacted. I should be happy for you no matter who the boy is! I wouldn't even be jealous if you hooked up with someone like Calum! Ooooooooooooooh or Luke. He's hot!" We both fell into a fit of giggles. "Pfffftttt yeah that'll be the day!" I say before we have another giggle attack.
