I miss you

I miss you
The talks we used to have
The jokes we used to share
If only I knew

It's my fault.
I became complacent
I assumed your situation
Was as steady as mine
I'm sorry for assuming
Didn't mean to cross any lines

I'm here for you
Whatever it is that's torturing you
I've got you
Through thick and through thin
I promised you
I promised I'd be there
From start to fin

I hope you see this
So you can hear what's in my head
I miss you
Even as I lay here in my bed
I worry
That sentiment still stands
I meant everything I said

I'll be here when you're ready
When you've had a chance to breathe
I just hope you'll still accept me
I hate this in between

I wanna hug you
Tell you everything's alright
I still dream of you
Your smile always shines so bright

I want to help
I just don't know how
Sometimes I've got to learn
That I'm not needed now

But I'll be here when I am
I'll be as patient as I can
I'll support you when you're ready
So I hope you'll take my hand.

If not I wouldn't be here

Too long
