Jay's eyes dart around the streets when the group finally approach the car.
His hand is tightly intertwined with Jungwon as now it's dark enough for their interactions to be unnoticeable by the public.
Sunoo suddenly wants to use the last bits of his money on a matching necklace with Sunghoon and whatever's left on some carnival food, however, something has been bothering Jay ever since they came down from the hilltop.
"You okay?" Jungwon asks when Jay stays stagnant as everyone approaches the souvenir shops.
Jay spares a quick glance behind him before smiling and shaking his head. "Just a little tired that's all – you don't have to worry about me," He squeezes their hand as they catch up with the rest of their group.
However, Jungwon notices how Jay can't stop severing their surroundings and so is Heeseung, looking behind them every few minutes. Something was definitely wrong.
"Are you sure you're—"
"Jungwon, trust me, I'm fine." Jay repeats and swings their hands, "I wouldn't lie to you."
"Then why is Heeseung acting strange too? Is someone here because we should just go back then, we can always do this another time." Jungwon lowers his voice and Jay panics when he can feel Jungwon's hand slip away from his.
"Who said someone is following us?" Jay holds his hand tighter, gripping Jungwon's three fingers that he manged to grab onto.
Jungwon stays quiet and looks away, at Jay, then at his feet, his eyes darting around feeling uncomfortable. Jay lets go of his hand and gently reaches over to brush his dark hair out of his face. Jungwon lets a small smile filter onto his face which manged to put the same effect on Jay.
"Trust me, I'll always protect you," Jay whispers as his hand slowly moves down to cup his cheek, "if something is wrong, I'll be here, I promise."
Jungwon laughs and feels hot under Jay's gaze. "You don't have to." Jay chuckles and traces the little crinkles around Jungwon's noes when he laughs.
Jay lets his hand slide down his cheek and presses his head closer to Jungwons. "Well I have to protect you; I'll die trying if I have to," he giggles and nuzzles up closer to his boyfriend.
"What if I need protection from you?" Jungwon teases and pokes at his chest with an unconscious pout.
Jay snorts and turns away. "Well then, I guess I'll have to suffer and you'll have to find someone else." He raises his eyebrows.
"No, I'm only joking—" He pulls at Jay's jacket, and he chuckles, patting his head softly and says.
"I'm only joking, my love," Jay whispers and leans in for a kiss, but instead brings up Jungwon's hand and quickly pecks the skin with a warm but gentle grin. Jungwon goes in to place a kiss on his lips until he hears a faint click which causes Jay to look around, panicked.
His face pales when he notices Heeseung is gone and even more so at the fact he can see someone following his gaze. "What's wrong?" Jungwon asks with a sterner tone but just as before Jay brushes it off. He would surely freak out if he knew someone had been following them.
"Um... Jungwon," Jay walks backwards and fumbles around in his pocket from what looks like cash, "Here, can you buy us some churros, I'm getting kind of hungry and I'll get us some drinks okay?"
"Why—but Jay..." Before Jungwon can argue and ask to go with him, Jay presses a swift kiss on his forehead and whispers 'I'll be right back' before disappearing into the crowd.
