"Nemi! Nemi~!" a toddler waddled towards the Wind Pillar of the Taisho Era just as he was about to head out on a mission. "Nemi!" the child leapt and clung to his leg with immense strength.
"What the-!" he exclaimed. "Oi! Kocho! Get your damn sister off of me!!"
"Dear me, sorry, Shinazugawa!" Shinobu ran over and picked the child up. "I was wondering where she got to. Now, why did you go running off again, Y/n?"
Yes, you, Kocho Y/n, were the younger sister of Insect Pillar, Shinobu Kocho. You were but a few months old when your parents died, and only 2 years old when Kanae passed away. Now, you were 3 and three quarters and were happily running around the Headquarters, living your life in gentle bliss, shielded from the outside world.

You'd first met the Hashira when you secretly followed your older sister, Shinobu, to a Semi-Annual Hashira meeting. Somehow, you'd kept quiet and crawled all the way there without her noticing. The Insect Pillar only noticed your presence when the Master Ubuyashiki himself called you out.
"My, it seems we have a visitor," he smiled. "And who might you be?" he looked behind Shinobu and so did everyone else to find a tiny butterfly girl. At first glance, it seemed as though they were looking at a baby version of the deceased Flower Pillar, Kanae Kocho. Had you been her age, you would've been identical!

"Y/n! How did you get here?" the Insect Pillar exclaimed, keeping her placid smile and picking you up. "Did you sneak away from Aoi again. She'll be mad with us both y'know."
"Is that a baby!?" Mitsuri squealed. "She looks so much like Kanae! She's the cutest! Can I hold her!?" she practically begged. Shinobu simply smiled and put you down, trusting that since you saw her open arms, you'd crawl to the Love Pillar. But instead, you caught sight of the kind smile of the Corps Leader and were instantly drawn to him.
