Chapter 12: The Extraction

Jungkook's POV (first time in first person)

After the recent events that had happened between Jin and I and Y/N's current injury, the tense of the hideout was high. We needed a mission to do to distract ourselves. What better way to get out our frustration by going after one of our other rival groups, Ateez? We've been suspecting for a while that they might have some pretty good dirt about Seventeen, our main rivals in this underground world.

We gathered in my study where we usually planned out our missions. The only other person that wasn't here was Jin and he was going to watch Y/N, as I instructed. I don't care if they aren't getting along right now. Maybe with him helping her heal, hopefully it might clear the air between those two, who knows. But we had to get down to real business.

On the empty wall across from my desk, I had placed a projector on one of the bookshelves behind me as a digital screen. Namjoon, our strategist in the group, had devised an intricate plan. Taehyung and Hoseok, are tech experts, were looking over a laptop going over their own plans. Yoongi was on his phone, per usual. But somehow he always knew what was going on, which made me not concerned about him. Jimin was by my side, asking for advice on how he should be able to manipulate Mingi. But then suddenly, Namjoon spoke up, making all of us look in his direction to hear what he was going to say.

"Alright, listen up. We're going after Song Mingi for Ateez. As we all know, we think he might have some information about Seventeens whereabouts. Our goal is to extract him from their hideout without raising any alarms. We leave tonight as everyone is ready to go to sleep so that's when we will attack. We need to be quick and efficient." He sated, his voice firm and authoritative. Everyone nodded, including me, acknowledging his statement.

"Jungkook, you'll lead the assault team with Jimin and Yoongi as your right and left hands for the mission. If Mingi is still awake, he will seduce him to show him to Mingi's room. Taehyung and Hoseok will be on security and Hoseok will erase any footage afterwards. Once he is in his room by himself or with Jimin, that's when we attack. Jin had already given me some chloroformed rags from the night before so we should be ok."

The plan was in place. Everyone had a specific role that would help play this mission out. Ateez wasn't a group to be taken lightly and Mingi was no pushover. They were a strong and powerful group that I wish was on our side. They are known for their harsh tactics and have high power above others, including us. They know everything there is to know about the criminal world. Even though they weren't around for as long as us and Seventeen are, they were cunning and charming, knowing how to make their way to the top. Even though they and Seventeen were more powerful in numbers, we were more powerful in how we worked together as a group, which none of the other groups can say they can.

Everyone then went downstairs to the armory room once again to gear up for this important mission. Down the hallway, Jin was supposed to be in the medical lab with Y/N. But I glanced as I saw him standing outside, looking at the other members with a sad expression on his face. I knew he didn't like that we were going without him, especially being the one who takes care of us. But my orders were clear: watch over Y/N and help her heal.

"Ready?" Namjoon asked everyone. We nodded, our stances firm as we marched out of the armory room and upstairs to the main level to go outside into our vans.

"Remember our objective everyone. Extract Mingi quickly and quietly. We don't want to be involved in any confrontations like with Seventeen. We all know how that ended. Jimin and Yoongi, be sure to stay with Jungkook until you have to make a diversion that needs to be swift and clean. Make them think that they are dealing with something internal." Jimin nodded and Yoongi had a sly grin on his face, showing his excitement for the upcoming mission.
