Chapter 15: Revealed Secrets

Down in the basement, Mingi was released from his restraints a few weeks ago, but was not able to leave where he was as it was heavily guarded and if he escaped, he would be killed on the spot. He still had a bunch of bruises, some scars, and dried up blood in certain places. He needed to get out of here, the walls in the basement felt like they were getting smaller and smaller, about to suffocate him. He felt like he would loose his mind if he was in there any long.

Jungkook and Namjoon made their way downstairs to the basement, to see if he would finally crack. They were determined and had enough of this back and forth. As they made their way downstairs, Mingi stood up from the ground, hoping at least some obedience would help him in his situation.

"You better speak today Mingi. I've been growing impatient with this shit already." Jungkook stated with a huff, his hands in his pockets as he was circling around Mingi as he stood in the middle of the basement.

"Fine... I'll tell you what I know. You have to promise though, that you will finally let me go if I tell you. I can't be here much longer without going insane." Mingi admitted. Namjoon and Jungkook looked at each other with hesitant glances. But eventually, they both nodded in agreement. They couldn't keep him forever, especially when he seemed to be of no use to them.

"You have our word." Jungkook said firmly. One thing was for sure, was that Jungkook held his promises. Mingi took a deep breath before running his hands through his hair, gripping it.

"Seventeen... they have another base. Somewhere more secretive than their main base that you know about. It's located in an abandoned warehouse in the outskirts of the city. They keep every single one of their weapons and classified information in there." Jungkook smirked, knowing that this was the information that they needed and it was finally being revealed to them.

"There's an underground entrance through the sewer system that only the members know about. They do have security patrolling it, but not as securely as the main entrance. You need a special access code to disable the security system." Namjoon nodded, taking in all of the vital information. He had a great memory, thanks to his amazing IQ. In situations like these, it really helped.

"What's the code?" Namjoon asked. Mingi just shrugged.

"I'm not sure, it always changes. Only their leader, Choi Seungcheol, keeps a backup code in his office at the main hideout. It's behind a secret place being a painting near the bookcase." Jungkook's face was filled with excitement and anticipation. He couldn't wait to get his hands dirty.

"As you promised... would you let me go? I told you everything I know, I promise." Mingi said, swallowing hard from his lack of water intake and from talking so much on top of that. Jungkook nodded his head towards Namjoon, taking Mingi's wrist, grabbing him and started to drag him out the door.

"Remember our deal Song Mingi. If you ever betray us or reveal whatever has happened between us..." Jungkook looked over at him and Mingi as he moved his thumb across his throat, not saying anything, but showing what would happen if Mingi were to speak out of line.

"I won't. I understand." Mingi nodded, his eyes filled with fear. Namjoon then brought him outside to one of the nearby vans, throwing him into the passenger seat to bring him back to Ateez's hideout. Jungkook was still in the basement, smirking. He was planning the mission in his head, different types of scenarios and ways to get into their secret hideout. Eventually, he ran upstairs towards his study, knowing he had to have a meeting with the other members.

Y/N's POV

Jungkook's voice yelled from upstairs, calling everyone into a meeting in his study. I couldn't help but feel surprised, realizing I was also being called to be apart of whatever this meeting was going to be about. It was going to be the first time I would be invited into something like this. As I made my way into the room, I saw that the other members were already there to my surprise. Jungkook nodded as he saw that. I entered and closed the door behind me. Jungkook then pulled a chair for me, patting on it as he looked over at me, telling me sit besides him. It was unusual, there was something off and I wasn't sure what it was but I guess I was about to find out.
