Disney Rescuers: Ariel on The Run

Chapter 2:King Poseidon's Palace

The next morning at Poseidon's palace, Ariel was sound asleep. She began to wake up, with no memory of anything, and gasped as she found herself in a giant queen bed and a princess-like room, filled with dresses, jewelry, and crowns that were made out of diamonds and gold. Even the walls were made of gold.

"Where am I?" Ariel said to herself, as she slowly got out of the bed and took a look around the room. She was interested in the dresses and crowns. She then picked out one of the crowns and put it on her head as she walked in front of the mirror.
"Ooh. How beautiful."

Suddenly there was a knock on the door that startled Ariel as she took off the crown and quickly got back into the bed.
"Good morning, miss Ariel." said a female fish-like maid.
"Good morning." Ariel said back."Where am I and how do you know my name?"
"His majesty, King Poseidon, requested your presence." said the maid."He also wants you to look your best this morning."
"Oh, I don't need a dress. I'm okay with what I have on for right now." said Ariel."And who is this King Poseidon?"
"Why, he's the ruler of the seven seas and of this palace." said the maid as she guided Ariel through the royal hall, she looked up to see unusual portraits of a man with mermaid-like features and green skin.
As they made it to Poseidon's room the maid knocked on the door.
"What is it?" said a man's voice.
"Your majesty, miss Ariel is awake." said the maid as she bowed her head and left the room. Ariel felt a little scared when she was left alone in a room with a total stranger, who is also the king of the palace.

"Hello?" said Ariel, but no one responded. Suddenly a man with green skin, black ebony hair, and a mermaid tail turned around in his chair and was stunned by Ariel's appearance.
"Oh, my little darling... welcome to my palace." he said in a sinister tone as he took Ariel's right hand and kissed it several times.
"Uh, t-thanks so much." Ariel said nervously, taking her hand away from Poseidon.

"Send a message to the chambermaid on your way out." Poseidon said to a few servants, that Ariel didn't know were there."A special thanks for preparing a room for our new guest."

"Uh, that d-definitely isn't necessary." Ariel hesitated."I-I really appreciate the room, I do. But I-I can't stay."

"And so witty!" Poseidon exclaimed happily, shooing away his servants who left the room. He then looked back at Ariel."Hmm... We'll have a huge wedding, sparing no expense."
Ariel was shocked."Wedding?!"
"Of course!" Poseidon smiled."All my subjects will be in attendance.We'll invite everyone in the sea. everyone I haven't terrorised, banished, or imprisoned. As for those I've eliminated, well, they won't know what they're missing! Ha ha ha!" He laughed.

Ariel sighs."Look...Mr. Poseidon sir, this is all very flattering, but, um... well...there's someone else." she explained. But Poseidon just laughed.
"Oh, nonsense. Whomever it is could not possibly compare with me. Ha ha ha ha ha! I shall woo you."

Poseidon then took his right hand brushed through Ariel's red hair."You'll come to love me."
Ariel was staring to lose her patience with Poseidon. "Did you not hear a single word I've said? I'm already with someone else." she said."Plus, you can't marry a woman you just met."

"You can, if it's true love." said Poseidon as he looked at himself in the mirror.
"But, kidnapping and forcing her to be your wife isn't true love!" Ariel yelled.

"Well, like it or not, you're going to be my wife." said Poseidon."Maid!"
"You rang, sire?" said the maid.
"I want you and the other maids to prepare the perfect wedding gown for my bride." said Poseidon. Ariel suddenly spoke up.

"Don't I have a say in this?" she asked.
"Of course not! We'll have a wonderful life together. I insist." said Poseidon as he got closer to Ariel's ear.
Ariel sighed and rolled her eyes."Just great, now I'm stuck in this palace with a merman." she murmured.

Poseidon then guided Ariel to the outside of her kingdom where all of his subjects were cheering at the sight of her."Let the joyous news be spread, your new queen has finally been found!"
