THIRD PERSON POV:

"I can't believe you had the nerve!" Hopper exclaims. "I thought I taught you better than this, Jane."

Jane was sitting on the couch in the living room, her parents standing in front of her, glowering.

Will was standing off to the side, on his phone.

"Honey, what were you thinking?" Joyce says. She was looking less angry and more disappointed. "Mike's a good boy, he and you seemed to be perfect for each other. Why did you mess things up? And drink alcohol?"

Jane's bottom lip quivered, tears in her eyes as she crunches her dress in her fists.

"And then you did it again," Hopper says. "We do not under any circumstance, allow this behavior." The next part seems to physically pain him. "They're going to press charges."

"What!?" Jane exclaims, looking up. "Can't you stop it?"

Hopper frowns. "Jane, you need to learn there are punishments for your actions," He says. "I can't get you out of this. I'm sending you to boarding school."

"What?!" Jane cries, tears slipping. "No! You can't do this to me! It's not fair!"

"You have to understand," Hopper says sternly. Jane lets out a sob, covering her face with her hands. "You'll start next week. And that's final."

Jane wails. "You can't do this to me! It's not fair! It's not fair!" She cries.

"It's for your own good, Honey," Joyce starts, but Jane lets out another sob and storms out of the room, pushing Will out of the way. "Jane!"

A very loud door slam comes next, making Will wince. "She'll calm down. Eventually," Hopper says, sighing as he sits down on the couch Jane was just in. "I really can't believe this. I thought.." He shook his head, obviously disappointed.

Will sent a text explaining the situation on the group chat. Lucas started spamming the celebration emoji while Dustin went on a rant in a million messages about the pros and cons. Max sent one text saying Cool. And Mike had yet to respond.

...

So she's gone. Mike thinks, his knees up to his chest in the bathroom. Tears were streaming down his face silently, holding the phone close to his eyes.

He looked at the bathroom door, eyes narrowing as he thinks back to the event leading him into the bathroom.

Karen pursed her lips as he watched Mike eat. "Don't you think you're eating too much?" She questions. "You're starting to put on weight."

Mike froze, looking up to glare at her. She tensed, immediately apologized, and ran from the room.

But the damage had already been done.

His eyes drifted over to the toilet, where he had just puked. He pulled his knees even closer to his chest, eyes downcast.

He felt shaky and weak, but he really didn't have the energy to go to his bedroom.

Call him. A tiny voice in Mike's head whispers. But he frowned, choosing not to. The last time Mike had called Will alone, bad things happened.

Ping

Will:
Jane's throwing a tantrum.

Max:
As she should. Fuck her *middle finger emojis*

Lucas:
^

Dustin:
^

Mike, despite himself, smiled softly at his friends.

The chat continued to spam the middle finger emojis, with a few extra curse words. Mike felt the urge to add to the conversation, but he couldn't find the word to.

School tomorrow would probably be hell.

...

"Hey pretty boy," Mike rolls his eyes. He just walked in, and he was already being asked out? C'mon. Have some dignity, people. "I heard some of the preppy girls talking about you, wanna go together to see what's going on?"

Mike smirks. You know what? I'll humor you. "Sure, why not," He says dismissively.

Multiple people snap their heads toward him as the person who asked him brightened considerably. "Um, yeah, just follow me," She says.

"Why is she so lucky? I want Mike to notice me!"

"I can't believe this, what is going on?"

"NO! Senpai's all MINE!"

Whispers and gossip ran through the school, getting all the way to Will's locker, where the rest of the party was. Two girls walk past the group, talking in hushed tones.

"Did you hear T.D.H. finally let someone ask him out?" One girl whispers to her friend.

Will slammed his locker shut, eyes wide as he turned to stare at the girls who passed them. Dustin and Lucas gape and Max blinks in confusion.

Of course, some people nicknamed Mike T.D.H. so they wouldn't have to say 'Tall, Dark, and Handsome' whenever they're talking about him. It was a known fact, keep up.

"What." Will hissed.

The group immediately moved through the crowd of students, following the whispers.

When they got to the courtyard, they saw Mike standing next to a girl who was staring at him in shock. "So?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Bitch!" Angela shrieks, lunging forward.

But the girl who brought Mike here moved in front of him, taking the hit. The two girls wrestled to the ground, starting a cat fight.

Dustin opened his phone. "Two girls start a fight over none other than TDH," He says loudly. "Amazing! Can I interview you both for the newspaper?"

Oh, did I forget to mention? Dustin also runs the newspaper.

Angela immediately jumped off the other girl, eyes wide. "N-No!" She exclaims, walking away with her other friends. Mike grins.

"What are you doing here?" Will says, making the boy spin around, his smiling even wider.

"Just talking," Mike says happily. He glances at the girl next to him. "Ah, sorry, I actually have other plans for this afternoon, I hope you understand." He smiles sweetly as the girl goes pale and she runs off, sobbing.

The whole party collectively blinks at Mike. "Ruthless, man," Lucas says, shaking his head in pity for the girl. "How's your head?" Mike was getting really bad headaches recently.

Mike blinks. "Hm? Oh, it's fine," He says. "My sister gave me medicine and now I feel kinda weird."

Will steadies Mike as the ravenette stumbles. "What medicine did you take?" He questions.

"You look really loopy, you sure Nancy didn't drug you or something?" Lucas questions with a smirk. Dustin elbows him in the side, making him yelp.

"Yeah, um, sure, do you want to sit down?" Will asks. Mike nods and lets Will guide him to a bench. He was feeling awfully dizzy. Maybe he shouldn't have thrown up his breakfast. But the food makes you fat. Fat makes you ugly. Ugly makes you friendless.

Mike blinks again. "I feel faint," He says.

"Did you have breakfast?" Will asks. Mike shook his head. "Okay, well maybe you're hungry. Can someone go get Mike some snacks?"

Dustin got up and ran off.

Mike looked up at the sky. There were barely any clouds. The blue color was mesmerizing. Mike bit his lip as he thought. What would happen if I fell?
