Batuk, who was lying in his turmoil, also took care of himself and followed them.

The conditions around the mound were similar to those of the mound. They had to walk a long distance even for grass.

There was a forest-like area at some distance. All four collected more wood, leaves, and grass there than needed and brought them to the mound in several rounds.

When they didn't even have the power to walk, Only then did Dev remember the small river. When they were coming from Gurukul, they saw the same river near the mound.

Sending Rasik to fetch water, all three started building the hut.

Seeing Rasik leaving, Batuk felt for a moment that he should call Rasik back, went to his place himself, and ran away to his home on the pretext of getting water and never came back again.

Batuk could do this because the tradition of Uttarasaadhaka gurukul gave him the right to do so.

Nothing was ever imposed on anyone in Uttarasaadhaka Gurukul. Aacharya used to tell the children that if you do this then, you will get these results, and if you do that, then you will get those results. They never used to say that you have to do as we are saying.

An incident that happened with Rasik was also direct proof of the fact that no one was ever forced in Uttarasaadhaka Gurukul, even if the thing being said is for the best of that person.

Aacharya Kamleshwar of culinary science, once while discussing vishma aahaars (non-cooperative diets) in his class, said that salty or sour things should not be consumed along with milk and milk products. These fall under the category of vishma aahaars (non-cooperative foods), which means that the food will create toxic chemicals in the human gut. The adverse consequences which a person may have to bear immediately and also after some time.

Rasik thought of researching the words of Aacharya Kamleshwar. He decided to do research in collaboration with a student from his senior class. Like Rasik, the student was also fond of food and drink, so he readily agreed to dietary experiments.

Rasik started using salty things with milk and the other student started eating sour things with milk. A week later, the two young scientists were almost brought back from death by the vaidyas of Uttarasaadhaka. Despite that, no Aacharya had stopped both of them from experimenting.

Stopping was not the culture of Uttarasaadhaka gurukul. It was the job of the aacharyas to share the knowledge they had gathered. The desire and responsibility of using that knowledge or not was with the students themselves.

So Batuk had the right that he could go back home without taking the exam.

"I will be called the first fugitive student of Gurukul." As momentarily as that thought entered his mind, Batuk had restrained himself.

Batuk kept watching Rasik leave and kept saying 'Don't thinkn't think' to himself.

The very tired Rasik knew that the river was far away, so he did not dare to walk fast. He went to the river very slowly saying 'water-water' in his mind.

A scientist by nature, he scoffed at his friend who used to tell him, "When a person gets lost in our sandy area, he finds ponds here and there in the dunes. Ponds are not there, but they seem to be there.

On the matter of a friend, Rasik used to have only one answer, "It is not possible at all. Tell your people to get sure treatment from our vaidyas. Probably you all have become psychopaths."

Everyone laughed listening to Rasik, but that friend could not laugh.

Only the people of the desert understand the pain of the desert.
