Catching up

Words count: 2,2k

You were talking with the sound technicians, up on the scene when you heard a high pitched scream, as well as some rushing steps. "Y/n ! Y/n ! Y/n ! I need you !" You turn around to find your girlfriend and her bandmates running towards you. You started to get worried about and met her halfway. "Are you okay ? Did someone happen ?" She breathed heavily, putting her hands on her knees, the boys close behind her. "It's an absolute disaster, a calomnie." She started to wave her hands around and you grabbed her by her shoulders to stop her. "Okay, now you're worrying me. How about you tell me what's upsetting you ?" She nodded and started to explain.

"No." You said sternly after she explained the 'awful' situation. Her shoulders slouched down and she pouted her lips. "Please bambina. You're our last hope." You shook your head, starting to walk away. The professional photographer for the show had an emergency and couldn't be there on time. And every photographer around couldn't arrive before tonight's show. Which left you, with your passion for photography. And your fears of crowds. You looked at the guys pleasing eyes glancing at you from behind her. You sighed and took her to have a small talk.

"Vic, you know I get scared of big crowds." You whisper-yell. "Yes ! I know, but it'll be alright. You'll be in the empty space between the stage and the crowd. I will pass by a few times for crowd surfing." She was massaging your shoulders, but it didn't relax you one bit. "I can't do it." You tried to break away but she kept you close. "Yes. You can. I promise you I'll protect you. Please. For me bambina ?" She made puppy eyes. That- you groaned in annoyance. You truly couldn't resist. "Fine." She jumped in excitement. "Oh thanks !" She made a thumbs up to the boys and they joined you and hugged as a thank you.

The night came, and it was getting closer to the show. You sat not far from Vic as she was getting her makeup done. You were making your last check-ups with your camera. You had visited the place you would take photos from. You felt her presence and dared to look up. Her face was right up close to yours and she pecked your lips. You smiled, she always managed to vanish the stress away. "Well, thank you." She smiled and walked away. You followed her to the back of the scene. Where they were to get on. You two joined the rest of the band, Damiano was going his last check up voice. They smiled at you. "Thank you again for replacing the photographer. We owe you." Ethan smiled. "You don't owe me anything." You smiled tensely. You could hear the agitation of the crowd. It was getting hot. Vic grabbed your hand and squeezed it reassuringly. You were thankful for the support.

A security guard went up to you and you knew it was tile to get in places. Vic turned to you and kissed you. The guys hugged you tightly and you left. Some fans recognized you and you waved at them as you went down near them. They extended their hands and you held some, greeting them.

Soon after, the show started and screams of the fans got you deaf for a second. This is wild. Damiano is walking around the stage, going from Vic to Thomas to Ethan and the crowd to invite them to sing. You take a picture of the three with a perfect angle of the big screen where Ethan is exposed.

As you stand there, below the stage, watching your lover playing the bass, you feel a sense of pride and admiration. They move their fingers gracefully over the strings, creating a beautiful bassline that complements the rest of the band's music. You've always been impressed by their skills, and it's amazing to see them performing in such a public setting. You can't help but feel a sense of excitement and joy as you watch them, and you find yourself smiling at each note they play. As the song comes to an end, the audience bursts into applause and cheers, and you join in, feeling a sense of euphoria.

You watch in awe as your girlfriend, still holding her bass guitar, jumps into the cheering crowd and begins to crowd surf. The atmosphere is electric, and you can feel the energy of the audience. You watch as she is passed from person to person, each person taking a turn to lift her up and carry her above their heads. You can't help but feel a sense of pride and admiration. It's an incredible sight to behold, and you can tell that she's having the time of her life. You can't help but feel a sense of excitement and joy for your lover, and you're grateful to be here to witness this moment. You have to make people see that wonderful memory. And without even thinking you capture the moment with you camera. Forever put into colors.
