It wasn't long before Prince John ordered his guards to give pursuit, but by then we were half a kilometre in front of them in the forest. After about two leagues of running, we decided to take a break in a well-hidden spot between trees. We could hardly catch a breath and our lungs were on fire, but we were alive. I started laughing at our newfound fortune, and Will joined in, making it even more difficult to breathe.

"Well, that was one merry adventure," Will laughed.

"Sure was. And don't worry that was merely a practice run. When I'm older, I want to have many adventures like this one with my very merry men," I joked between breaths.

"Oh, yes! Robin and his Merry Men!" That got us to laugh until I was sure we would use up all the breaths in the world.
