The atmosphere in the school chat was electric, buzzing with rumors and discussions. Inside the classroom, Y/n found herself held by two girls while Yuna, the ringleader of the mean girls, snatched her bag and ruthlessly dumped its contents onto the ground.
Yuna taunted, "Let's have a look. What's in there? It's a car key. Do you have a car?"
Another girl added, "Weird. You normally take the bus."
Yuna pressed on, eager to expose Y/n, "What's the name, Aera?"
Y/n, her voice quivering with anxiety, pleaded, "No! That's my friend's motorcycle."
Yuna, devoid of empathy, remarked coldly, "Poor her. Do I care?"
One of the girls heartlessly threw the motorcycle key into the hallway, initiating a chaotic scramble among the students to claim the abandoned key. Y/n chased after them, desperately trying to stop the madness.
Outside, in a nearby field, Y/n spotted the students recklessly pushing Aera's motorcycle. She cried out, "Stop it! What are you doing? Stop!"
Determined to protect her friend's property, Y/n made her way into the crowd and attempted to halt the motorcycle's destructive journey. However, the students, oblivious to her pleas, seemed more interested in tormenting her and the damaged motorcycle.
A random boy callously remarked, "Is this a motorcycle? I thought it's a piece of junk."
Y/n, her patience worn thin, angrily pushed the boy, demanding, "This is not funny. Will you stop playing?"
The situation had escalated into a frenzy of vandalism, and Y/n struggled to regain control and prevent further damage.
In another corner of the city, Niki and Jay engaged in a conversation filled with intrigue.
Jay began, "Hey, about this thing I looked into last night, I've got something."
Niki leaned in, eager to hear more. "Tell me."
Jay continued, "That lounge belongs to Jang Younghoon. Does the name sound familiar?"
Niki recalled, "He's in the financial sector, right? Does he control businesses in that area too?"
Jay nodded, his curiosity piqued. "I wonder that too. What about Jungwon?"
Niki sighed, concern lacing his voice. "He's getting out of control. He met a girl last night and disappeared, but don't worry. I texted him, and he said, 'Don't worry, I'm home.'"
Jay's interest was piqued. "Huh? What girl?"
Niki disclosed, "Right, I haven't told you. Do you remember Narae, Y/n's friend? When she's outside the school, she's so sexy."
Jay's brow furrowed. "Have you checked her record?"
Niki promptly delved into investigating Narae's background, and the results revealed that Narae's real name was Jang Wonyoung.
Jay couldn't hide his suspicion. "What's her relation to Younghoon?"
With a sense of realization, Jay continued, "His daughter. I knew it. This is not a coincidence. Hold on, do you still have the yearbook?"
Niki was puzzled by the request. "Why?"
Jay quickly grabbed the yearbook, flipping through the pages and pointing at a specific entry. "Do you remember when we were in primary school? There's a student whose surname is Jang. Here she is, Hyunsoo Jang."
Niki wasted no time and searched for information about Hyunsoo Jang. He exclaimed, "I got it, Jay. I remember her. Call Jungwon now."
Jay immediately dialed Jungwon's number, recognizing that this puzzle was becoming increasingly complex.
In the privacy of the hotel room, Jungwon's consciousness gradually returned as he coughed and stirred. Narae, who had been silently observing him, acknowledged his awakening.
Narae softly spoke, "You're awake, Jungwon."
He looked at her, his mind clouded with confusion, and questioned, "How did I get here?"
Narae carefully chose her words, "You passed out last night. I just... wanted to take you to a place where I can take care of you."
Jungwon attempted to gauge the time and asked, "What time is it?"
Narae continued, trying to persuade him to stay, "Jungwon, please relax. Have something to eat first. Jungwon, I've ordered room service. It could come within 10 minutes. Jungwon."
Jungwon, however, was preoccupied with his surroundings. He opened the curtains to reveal a view of the Ferris wheel, which triggered a memory of his time with Y/n. He closed the curtains, at which point Narae embraced him from behind.
Narae implored, "Please rest and stop thinking about that girl. Be with me, and I'll make you happy."
Jungwon, still focused on finding his phone, removed her hands from his waist, asserting, "I don't want it. Where is my phone?"
Narae was determined to keep him in her clutches. "Jungwon, please listen."
But Jungwon was having none of it, searching for his phone with urgency. He declared, "I do whatever I want. Where is my cellphone?"
Narae, desperate to retain control, protested, "No. I won't let you go anywhere."
Jungwon, frustrated by her actions, challenged her, "Who do you think you are ordering me around? You took me to this place and wouldn't let me leave. What's wrong with you?"
Narae, her emotions laid bare, finally confessed, "I'm the one you need to care about. Why? Why have you never opened your heart to me? How is Y/n better than me? A stupid girl like that doesn't deserve you. I, on the other hand, am your girl. No one could understand you more than me."
Jungwon, still puzzled, probed, "What are you talking about? What do you understand?"
Narae revealed her long-held secret, "Jungwon, you don't know... to get to where I am today, how much effort I've had to put in. Since the first day I met you, I've been trying. I've studied you more than anyone. I know every little facet of your life. There's no other woman in the world who could work as hard."
Jungwon, astounded by her revelations, questioned her authenticity, "Who are you really?"
Narae's carefully constructed façade began to crumble, and the true nature of her intentions remained shrouded in uncertainty.
