"Are you sure you wanna do this today"? Stone asked me as we sat in our room together. Today was the day I decided to ask Amethyst out to prom. I have had a crush on her for a long time now and figured now would be a good time as ever. Prom was a few months away but I already had an outfit picked out due to all of the business trips my dad takes me and my brothers on.

A few months was enough time for her to get everything she needed and if I had to I'd buy the dress for her. My two older brothers are worried I'm rushing into things. They claim they know the type of girl she is and don't want to see me hurt. I appreciate them for that.

"I am. I've liked her since freshmen year, you know that". "I do but still". "I appreciate the concern Stone I really do but I'll never know unless I try". "Is this because some of the others make fun of you for not being with someone"? Stone and Hibiki have been with their boyfriends for a few years now, when our classmates found out they started asking me when I would get a girl or boyfriend. My reply was that I was looking for the right person.

He sighed. "No, I'm doing this because I like her". "Fine but let Hibiki and I watch close by in case something happens". "Ok".

During school, nothing too exciting happened. Classes went on as normal with the same amount of kids talking in the back while the teacher thought. It wasn't anything I hadn't already learned from my father so I pretended to listen while secretly looking over at Amethyst.

I watched as she looked at the board intently while simultaneously writing down notes. Every now and then I would answer the question the teacher gave me thinking I wasn't paying attention but would go back to teaching when I answered it correctly.

When lunchtime came is when I decided to do it. The corridor was filled with kids coming out of their classrooms and rushing to the cafeteria since breakfast wasn't enough to fill them up or rushing to meet up with their friends so they could talk and hang out for a few minutes.

I spotted her walking through the corridor and stopped her while Stone and Hibiki watched from the boy's restroom door that was a little far from us but still in hearing distance. Little did I know a crowd of people was watching along with them.

"Hey Amethyst, wait up". "She turned around looking at me confused. "Yes Obito? What can I do for you"? "I've been meaning to tell you this for a while. I think your really pretty, talented and smart. Seeing your smile brightens up my day and I can't help but want to be around you and was wondering if you'd allow me to take you to prom. I know we barely know each other but if given the chance I would like to get to know you and see where things go from that".

It went quiet for a long time. She did nothing but stare and blink at me taking everything I said in. I was about to say something again when she finally talked. "Let me get this straight you want to take me to prom?...... Why on Earth would I choose someone like you? You're rarely ever at school and hardly pays attention in class. Sure you might be able to answer the teacher's questions but that's probably because you look at the previous classes' notes beforehand and have your dads pay the school to give you good grades.

When it comes down to it your lazy Obito. You only have your daddy's name to fall back on and will be dependent on him for the rest of your life. Your a loser"! I looked at her completely shocked as the kids around us started to laugh.

H how could she have gotten everything so completely wrong? Me use dad and papa? That could never happen

"Come on you don't need to be here". Stone's voice rang in my ear. "We've got you little brither". Hibiki's voice rang in the other. Everything was a blank, all I could remember was walking.

Out of dream

Was I rushing things again? Where Stone and Hibiki right a second time?

I headed to work early. I needed a distraction from my thoughts and knew working out was the only way to do it at the moment. I headed towards the rooftop gym, took my shirt off placing it on one of the hangers that were on the rack made my way over towards the bench, laid down, and started doing bench presses.

The elevator to the roof opened but I didn't look up to see who it was. If I did I would've seen the shocked look on his face along with the blush that went across his nose.

"I I'm sorry to interrupt you sir b but I thought now would be a good time for us to talk in private. Y you can continue your workout if you want".

"Eighty". I placed the dumbbells back in place and sat up giving him my full attention. "Would I be right to assume this is about the question I asked you"? He nodded. "You would. I've thought about it and I would be lying if I said you weren't attractive and that I wasn't attracted to you so yes, I would like to be in a relationship with you".

"Really"? He nodded his head. I stood up and went hug him immediately but also took notice to the fact he tensed up when I did.
