The Meeting

Kakashi

Today was the day of the board meeting and to say I was nervous would be an understatement. The board doesn't trust Obito but for what reason I don't know. I know Obito's a good man, I can see it by looking in his eyes.

His father wouldn't have hired him if he didn't think his son was the best choice for the position and could handle it. I don't know either of them but I do know that the heir to the company you built from the ground up has to be someone you trust fully.

That's another thing, Madara doesn't know how the board feels about Obito either. There's no way he'd be comfortable with any of this. I know I have to tell Obito but I have no idea how he'll handle it.

I stopped at a coffee shop on my way to work. I don't know if it's true but every time someone's about to tell someone bad news they either give them coffee or sweets. I don't know why they do it but they do. I also don't know if it works but I have to try right.

Obito has been nothing but nice to me, I hate that I have to give him bad news so early. I made my way over to the cashier, wrote down my order, and handed it to him.

"Two grande cappuccinos with almond milk and two chocolate chip chunk cookies coming right up". I nodded and went sit at one of the tables to wait. What I didn't expect was for Rin to come in.

She was wearing a black skirt with a light blue blouse, black stiletto heels, and had her hair down with a few strands tucked behind her ear.

"Hey Kakashi"!

I mentally sighed.

She made her way over and sat across from me. "I didn't know you came to this coffee shop as well. I know the coffee at the office isn't that great so I don't blame you for wanting to come here. Did you order for yourself or Obito as well"?

I thought to myself as my hand gripped my pants leg.

"You know Kakashi were not bad people, I know that if you'd open up a little that you'd like the kind of people we are. The group and I really want to get to know you better".

I don't want to get to know any of you

"Ma'am, he doesn't talk". One of the workers said. She looked at them confused. "What? Of course he does, we work together". "He handed us a paper with his order on it". "He can talk, he talks to our boss all the time".

Why is she here? Aren't there other coffee shops for her to go to?

"Kakashi"! I stood up as fast as I could, grabbed my other, and left in my car to work.

Obito

I looked up worriedly as I watched Kakashi rush into the room. He looked utterly scared. It's as if someone was chasing him and this was the only room he'd be safe in.

Is someone in the office bothering him?

"Kakashi, everything ok"?

He jumped a little at the sound of my voice but soon calmed down. "I uh stopped by the coffee shop and bought you a coffee and a few cookies, I know you like sweets so......" I smiled. "Thank you". He put my half on the desk and I took a sip right away. "The meetings starting soon. Is there anything I need to know"?

He looked to the side. "They don't trust you, they also think you somehow tricked your father into giving you this position". "I see".

I had a feeling that might be the case

"Stand behind the desk, I'll need you in case I need a translator".

"Yes sir".

I opened my laptop and was immediately greeted by the four board members in question.Bai Wu, Anastasia, Alexander, Hans, it's good to finally meet the four of you". I tried to muster the sincerest smile I could.

"You as well Mr. Uchiha, our apologies for not sending you our messages in English and for assuming you could understand our languages but it's clear no miscommunication was given". Alexander said.

"no, entendí perfectamente tus mensajes. Mi papá es hispano y el novio de uno de mis hermanos, así que es seguro hablar español con fluidez". ( no I understood your messages perfectly. my papa's Hispanic as well as one of my brothers boyfriends so it's safe to say I'm fluent in Spanish)

The look of shock on their faces was priceless. "I see, out of respect for you the four of us have agreed to speak English".

"Are you sure? I would hate to make any of you uncomfortable since English isn't your first language". "No no, it's completely fine I assure you". "Very well, what's the first topic of business the four of you wish to discuss"?

"Why didn't your father notify any of us about his decision"? Bai Wu asked. "As I'm sure your aware of my father has been training me alongside my two older brothers for the CEO position. He knew one day he would want to settle down with my papa and finally be able to relax so he started preparing us when we were in middle school.

He had us working with him in his office after school, going on business trips, and attending meetings in secret, in uni the three of us majored in business and passed with honors it wasn't until last week that he made his decision. As to why he didn't feel the need to tell any of you I guess it has to do with the fact his name is on the company".

If looks could kill.

"Why weren't your cousins considered for the position"? Hans asked. "Simple, Shadow and Kana are police officers along with my Aunts Ryuko and Aki and Sayumi is a martial arts instructor. They love their dad my uncle but aren't interested in it. All of these are simple questions you could have asked me personally instead of talking behind my back in the group chat". They were all shocked. I motioned for Kakashi to come and stand next to me and he did but I couldn't help but notice it was a few feet away.

"This is Kakashi Hatake the newest hire at Uchiha Tech. He works as a graphic designer but is also hired as my secretary and is fluent in all of your languages. He told me all about how you questioned my father's decision-making as well as how competent I was. The four of you are lucky I don't fire you here and now but I'm feeling gracious, this is your only warning don't let it happen again".

I closed my laptop with a sigh. I was about to say something to Kakashi but noticed he was behind his computer working.
