Konan- Hey how's it been?

My eyes widened in shock as I saw her name pop up on the phone. The last time I had seen Konan was at our college graduation. We had been best friends during both high school and college. The two of us were inseparable, we had all the same classes and attended the same parties and sorority.

I was hoping we would also be able to work at the same company but sadly she had received a job offer in a different country.

Me: I'm sorry you are?

Kona: I'm sorry I know I promised to keep in touch, it's just I've been really busy with work and haven't found the time to call or text you.

Me: I guess I can forgive you

Knoan: Good because I was hoping we could get lunch today that is if you're free.

Me: Of course, I always have time for my best friend. I'll send you the address

We met up at one of the local cafes. I was running a little late due to a work project I was working on and headed there as fast as I could. When I arrived I saw her sitting down at one of the round tables. Her purple hair was up in a bun with a few strands decorating her face and wore a light purple sweater, black pants, and black ankle boots. I wore a light pink crop top with white pants, a black crop top jacket, and black and white sneakers.

"Hey, stranger". I said smiling as I took my seat across from her. "Hey yourself". She smiled back. The waitress came over to take our order and left soon after.

"You look great! How have you been"? I asked. "I'm good can't complain". "Sorry I'm late, I'm working on a last-minute project for Obito and kinda a bit behind". I laughed a little nervously. "If you need to finish your project we can always reschedule". She asked concerned.

"No no it's fine really, Obito and I are friends he won't mind, besides it'll probably be a while before we can hang out again". "Not really". She said looking to the side. "Huh? What do you mean by that"?

"There's a reason why I asked to meet up with you. You see I was doing so well at my last company that my work started to get noticed by a lot of important people. As a result of that Mr. Uchiha contacted my company and asked if he could have me as one of his employees. I start tomorrow and have more hours and a larger pay". I stood up and hugged her immediately.

"That's great news! I hope he has you working in my department". I sat back down smiling. "I would like that but you'll probably be the only friend I have there". "I doubt it, everyone there is pretty nice except this one guy Kakashi".

"Oh really, whys that"? "He doesn't talk to anyone other than Obito. If you ask him a question he only answers by shaking or nodding his head and doesn't like coming to after-work hangouts but I think it has more to do with him being nervous. I know I said what I said but I kinda like him and think he might actually be a good guy deep down, he just needs a little help opening up is all".

"Kakashi, Kakashi. His last name wouldn't happen to be Hatske would it"?

"Yeah. How do you know"?

She looked at me sadly. "I hate to do this but you deserve to know since you like him"? I looked at her confused as she took out her phone. She tapped on it a few times before turning it around and showing me a picture of Obito kissing Kakashi on the cheek. It was a screenshot of a magazine picture but the shock was still fresh as it overtook my body.

"I'm not sure how long they've been together but it's obvious he's taken".
