CHAPTER 17

Prof. Avengoza's POV

I thought today was supposed be a normal Sunday. Travis and I went around the city para mag-hire ng wedding planner. I appreciated Travis for making a time with me and to find someone who is professional that can help us to prepare the entire wedding.

Pero all the time na magkasama kami maghapon he's all on his phone at parang wala sa sarili. He just keeps on saying to me that it's because of his works from their law firm that even during the weekends he really can't have a time to fully relax.

That's why he insisted us to get a dinner date first as we are just enjoying each other's company and spending time together since magiging busy na naman kami kapag weekdays when out of nowhere a woman around my age as well barge in from the door and walk right away to our table.

Akala ko pa nung una para lang siya nagkamali ng resto na pinasukan dahil napansin ko agad siya pagpasok at dire-diretso siya sa pinto na may kasamang batang babae na tingin ko around 3 years old.

The next thing I knew she shamelessly claimed that Travis and her are together for three years already and nagkaroon pa sila ng anak. I was too stunned to speak dahil sa sobrang bilis nang pangyayari.

"You choose Travis, siya ba o kami ng anak mo?" She asked that to him so loud enough for other customers to hear. I can even sense some of them are already taking pictures and videos.

She introduced herself by the name of Helena Buenavista and kept on saying things that Travis was a jerk and calling him cheater after she found out that he'll be marrying other woman soon.

Malamig lang na nakatingin ako kay Travis habang hindi ko na naiintindihan sinasabi nung Helena pero binuhat niya yung batang babae at inilapit sa akin. Sobrang lakas ng kabog sa dibdib ko nang mamukhaan ko na may pagkakahawig si Travis dun sa bata.

Si Travis naman pinapakalma yung babae niya at nagsasabing sinungaling yung Helena pero sinampal lang siya nito.

"What a scumbag of a man like you Travis Jace. If I didn't hired a private investigator I wouldn't know you've been cheating on me and you even planned on marrying other bitch!"

Dun na ako napatayo dahil sa sinabi niya. "Your sense of decency and your potty mouth were as awful as your personality.." I said while eyeing the two of them. There's a look of horror mirrored from his face and with that reaction I just knew I got fooled by this man for so long.

I grabbed my purse and just walked out not minding Travis who keeps calling my name as I went outside the restaurant.

"Don't turn your back to me like that, bitch!" Hindi ko na sila nilingon pa. Ang lakas ng loob ng babaeng yun to call me such things na dapat ako ang magmas-mataas kaysa sa kanya.

Dinala ako ng mga paa ko sa parking lot dahil may kaunting liwanag lang dito at napasandal sa isang sasakyan.

Until I heard a voice that I recognized quickly, "Callen." I said in a low voice I'm restraining myself to shed tears I don't why but I'm still on shock. I was thinking if Travis have done something behind my back three years ago then tatlong taon na rin niya akong ginagago hanggang ngayon. We've been dating for over four years already.

Inalalayan ako ni Callen na pumasok ng kotse niya at wala lang din sa sarili na pumasok ako sa loob.

All those years I've spent with Travis suddenly flashbacks on my mind. I've been telling myself that sometimes Travis shows some of his red flags but I shrugged those thoughts off since he got busy when he decided to be a lawyer. Nasanay na lang din siguro ako sa mga nagdaan na taon dahil tinanim ko sa isip ko na siya yung papakasalan ko.
