"I like your tattoo."
I wasn't sure what he was taking about, until I noticed his eyes were looking at my upper thigh. There tattooed is my little space ship with red stars around. I blushed.
"What does it mean? Your tattoo. Does it have a meaning?"
This question caught me off balance. I nearly fell off of the kitchen counter that I was sitting on. I brushed a strand of my red hair back behind my ear, I nod. His lips created a smile, and he nodded his head as if I had chosen the right answer.
Little does he know, I have touched the stars before.

Today is the day. I am starting her first day of high school. My red hair is tied back with a purple ribbon, and I am wearing a white tee shirt with ripped jeans. I have white converse with little aliens imprinted on the sides on. Tossed around my shoulders is my purple backpack with any supplies that I would need for today. My family and I are from the planet Tamaran, which is outside of the Milky Way Galaxy. We had to flee due to a war that broke out. We have been on this planet called Earth for nearly 8 years now. During those 8 years, we learned the human and American norms. My mother decided to homeschool my sister, Komand'r, or better known as her Earth name Komi Anders, and I for the first few years. She thought that it won't be wise to send her two non Earth daughters to school. So she taught us all we needed to know. My father found a job as being a cars mechanic. He was hired due to his knowledge of mechanics. He was a mechanic back on Tameran for their version of the Air Force. My mother decided to become a day care employee and work with small babies. My sister and I think our mom wants either of us to have our own children one day, I stutter at the idea.
I walk up the school. It had the big letters imprinted on the side reading: WAYNE HIGH SCHOOL. I look around to see there are other kids my age waiting for the first bell to ring. There are some kids sitting in their assigned groups. There is a group of artists, athletics, musicians, and a group of what I would assume are the outsiders. I scan around the courtyard once more and notice a group of girls, all talking and giggling. I figure that group would be the best fit for me.
I stroll over their way until I feel a thump on my back, which sends me to the ground. I feel something or someone laying on my back. Whatever weight that is on my back, quickly went away and I am able to roll over onto my back. I shield my eyes from the sun.
Above me is a boy. Black shaggy hair, the brightest blue eyes I had ever seen. The blue eyes give me a look of worrisome. I look more and see his hand is outstretch waiting for me to take it.
"Oh my god. I am sorry. My friends are idiots." He said, still looking at me.
I take his hand, which sent fire through my body, "It's okay. I'm fine." The boy pulls me up onto my feet, I see behind him a group of boys, chuckling and pointing at us.
"I haven't seen you around here before. Are you new?" The boy askes.
I notice that our hands are still interlocked, I quickly take my hand back, "yes, I am." I spoked sheeply. God I hate small talk.
"I'm Richard, but everyone calls me Dick."
"I'm Kori."
