I finally wake up for good. Between the time of Babs and Richard being in my room and now, I think I woke up a total of twenty times. I would just look back at the moon and fall sleep again. I get up and rub my eyes open.
"Good morning star shine"
I slowly turn my head and see Richard laying on a small couch. His head is resting against a tiny pillow.
"Starshine?" I repeat.
"Don't you remember? Gar said that your jeans reminded him of stars when they shine. So he gave you the nickname." Richard explains. I do not remember this exchange that we had, but I accept the nickname. My real name Koriand'r translates to Starfire in English, so I would say that is close enough that I will get.
"Oh Gar and his nicknames," Richard says as he smiles. His handsome smile sends my heart thumping. He gets up and heads over to me to sit on the edge of the bed, "How are you feeling?"
"I feel okay." I tell him, I pull myself up into a sitting position.
"I am sorry that I gave you your drink back. I should have known." Richard hangs his head down in disappointment.
"Oh Richard. Do not be the hard on yourself." I tell him, I put my hand on his shoulder, "I should have known not to continue drinking when I felt that something was not the alright."
Richard looks over at me. His face tells me that he wanted to ask a question, but he doesn't.
Richard and I both look up at the door when we hear a soft knock, "Mister Grayson. Miss Gordon told me that you are in here. May I come in?"
"Yes, Alfred. You can." Richard responds. Alfred comes in with a silver tray.
"Oh wonderful! Miss Anders is awake. How are you feeling?" Alfred comes over to us.
"I feel okay. Thank you." I tell him. Alfred smiles and drapes the tray over my lap. It is full of breakfast foods. Waffles, bacon, and a bowl of different fruits, along with a glass of milk. I take a sip of milk and begin eating, making sure I do so slowly.
"If you need anything Miss Anders, please let me know." Alfred tells me.
"Thank you again Alfred. This is more than enough." I tell him with a smile. Alfred leaves Richard and I alone. I eat while Richard watches me. I offer him a few blueberries and he refuses. But after time moves, I see him sneaking a few blueberries his way. I finish my tray and Richard takes it from me and puts it on the dresser.
"Do you want to get up?" Richard asks me. I nod and swing my legs over the edge of the bed. I attempt to get up, but I wobble. Richard comes and puts his arm around my waist to help steady my balance. I regain my balance and start walking slowly to the bedroom door. Richard is making sure to stay near me just incase my legs give out. We both make our way to the living room and I sit on the sofa. I pull my phone out of my pocket. I scroll through my phone and find some photos that were taken from last night. Selfies of me puckering my lips out and holding a peace sign close to my face. I swipe. Selfies of Vic and I, we are both smiling at the camera. Swipe. Another picture but it is Gar and I with Wally squeezed between us. Swipe. There is a picture of me with Richard in the background. It seems like I had caught him off guard when I took the picture. Swipe. This photo is a group photo of Babs, Bee, and I. I am in the middle of the two, and we all have our arms wrap around each other's hips. This is a nice picture of us. When did I have time to take these?
"Well that's a nice picture of us!" Babs points out, she plops down next to me, "How are you feeling? You gave us all a scare last night."
"I feel better. Thank you." I tell her. I shut my phone off and put it back.
"I am sorry for what happened to you last night." Babs softly told me.
I nod at her, not knowing what to say.
"You are lucky that you were close to Richard," Babs goes on, "When he saw you pass out, he got everyone to leave. He was very worried. I don't think I ever seen him so-"
"So what?" Richard is back holding the silver tray that Alfred gave me.
Babs turned around to face him, "I don't think I ever seen him so... caring."
Richard's face blushes and he hurries to the kitchen to clean off the tray. I don't think he meant for me to see him blush at Babs's statement. Richard cleans the tray and takes a seat next to me. Babs and him engage in a conversation about the party. I try my best to remember those moments but my brain fogs the memories. At one point of the night, Gar asked Rachel to homecoming, and she said yes. The fact that she was at the party last night surprised me. Rachel doesn't seem like one who would attend a high school party. I wished that I saw her before I got drugged.
"Who drugged me?" I asked cutting Babs off. They both looked at me.
"We don't know," Richard slowly tells me, "but I am going to have Alfred look at the cameras to see if he can find out."
I look at Richard. I guess I give him a look, because he follows up by saying, "I promise."
I look at the time on the grand of the father clock and see that it is almost lunch time.
"Would you be able to take me home?" I ask Babs, "My mother said that I need to be home before dinner and I would like to do the cleaning up."
Babs nods and gets up. Richard helps me up, even though I really don't need it now. I appreciate the offer, so I let him. The three of us make it out to Babs's car. The fall air turned cold, and I am still wearing my clothes from the night before. Richard takes notice of my arms being cross trying to keep myself warm. Richard runs back inside and returns with a black hoodie. He hands it to me, and I slip it over my head. I instantly get both warm and a scent of Richard.
The three of us get into the car and buckle up. Babs pulls out of Wayne Manor and makes way to Gotham. The car is quiet, other than the radio playing music. The music cuts off to the afternoon news report. I would hear this being playing in the lunch room at school. I don't think other students tend to take notice of the radio being played during that time, but I do.
"Rumors have it!" The radio DJ says, "Bruce Wayne is planning his annual Winter Gala. Tickets are on sale now. You better get them quick before they sell out."
I see Babs and Richard exchange looks through the car's window's reflection. They don't seem too thrilled with the DJ's announcement for some reason.
