Taking a deep breath, I knocked on my older brother's, Bi-Han, door. Yes, I know it is midnight, and everyone is asleep, but I am also mindful that Bi-Han stays to stretch and work out. I heard him sigh and his heavy footsteps approaching the door. The doorknob twisted, and the door cracked open to reveal a glaring Bi-Han. His eyes slightly softened once he saw it was me at the door, and he opened it more comprehensively.

"What is it, sister?" He asked me.

"I am ready, brother," I confidently told him.

He smirked, knowing what I was talking g about, but asked anyway, "Ready for what?"

"I am ready to join the Lin Kuei alongside you, Kuai, and Tomas."

He smiled, grabbed my arm, and led me down the hall. I didn't question where we were going since I already knew we were going down to the training room. There stood Tanya and Kuai Liang. They looked towards us as we entered the room. They sent me a confused expression, but I just shrugged. They looked at Bi-Han, and he nodded, sending them a mental message.

Tanya approached the mat and smirked at me, "You and me. Let's go."

"Oh-uh, okay," I said awkwardly and approached her, "so what are we do—"

Before I could finish my sentence, she attacked. She tried to punch me in the face, but I dodged it and kicked her leg, making her fall. She rolled on her stomach and pushed herself back up on her feet. She did a backflip over me and put me in a headlock. I grabbed the back of her neck and rolled her over my body. I straddled her, pinning her to the ground, and waited until she yielded.

"Alright, I yield," Tanya chuckled and reached a hand up to me to help her up.

"Good," I smiled, "Who's next?"

"I am," Kuai Liang said and approached the mat.

I sighed, knowing I wouldn't be able to beat him, "Kuai Liang, you know you'll—"

"You'll do great, sister," he assured me, "So, are you ready?"

I nodded and got into a fighting stance. Kuai Liang cracked his neck and pounced at me. He grabbed my arm and tried to flip me over his shoulder but dislocated mine instead.

"Agh, damnit!" I hissed.

Kuai sent me an apologetic glance, but I ignored it. I slammed my body into him, knocking him down and relocating my arm. He kicked me in the stomach, and I doubled over in pain. While I was vulnerable, he charged at me, sending me to the floor and pinning me down. Not giving up so quickly, I headbutted him, sent him off me and onto his back, and pinned him to the ground.

He smiled proudly and called, "I yield."

"Nice," I helped him as he started worrying about me.

"Is your arm okay?" He asked, "How's your stomach? Did you hurt your head? You should rest—"

"I'm fine, brother," I assured him as he nodded, "Bi-Han, I assume you're the last person I must face?"

"You assumed correctly," he smiled and climbed onto the mat, "Get ready, sister. I am not holding back."

"Neither am I," I told him and charged at him.

He grabbed my arm and tried to throw me, but I wrapped my arms and leg around his forearm. Once he brought me in front of him, I kicked him in the chest, making him stumble backward. I released his arm and got back into a fighting stance. He was proud of me, but he tried not to show it. We continued to fight until he pinned me down.

"Do you yield?" He asked me with a smirk.

"Not yet!" I said.

I used my power to turn my first into stone and punched Bi-Han in the face, not hard enough to hurt him but sending him flying off me.

I sat on him and mocked his voice, "Do you yield?"

This time, he let his smile show.  He nodded, and I helped him stand. He put his hand on my shoulder and led me out of the room with Tanya and Kuai Liang behind us.

He, Kuai, and Tanya stood before me as Bi-Han spoke, "Yuri Rio, I am proud to announce you are now Lin Kuei. You fought fiercely and bravely. Be the future grandmaster the Lin Kuei needs. Do you accept?"

I immediately nodded and agreed, "I accept."

Kuai Liang smiled and hugged me, "I'm so proud of you, sister."

"Thank you, brother."

"I'll show you around the clan tomorrow afternoon," Bi-Han promised.
