The following Wednesday, Analeigh walked into school, heading towards English. She was starting to enjoy that class more as her shyness, and anxiety was slowly starting to disappear. Her teacher was great too. She was young, and really tried to make each class relax, and interesting.
Nolan smiled at her when she walked in the classroom, and she joined him in the back. They created small talk until class started. Today they were continuing discussing the book the class had finished. Since, Analeigh was new, she was still in the middle of reading the book, and got to sit out on these discussions. She usually used them to practice reading peoples minds. It was funny hearing the stuff people thought about each other, or their significant others.
When the discussion was over for the day, the teacher let the class use the time to do whatever, so Analeigh tried to brainstorm some more for her art project. She had decided to make it abstract, and she knew she wanted the focus color to be blue. It's the color you see when a future teleports, she finally got to see what that was like Monday. It was so cool, and they even taught her how too.
She was still stuck at the end of class, and just decided she would figure it out tonight, at home. She grabbed her book bag, and slung it on her shoulders.
"Hey, Analeigh, are you interested in school dances? Like do you go to them?" Nolan asked, and Analeigh shrugged her shoulders.
"Depends, why're you asking?" He blushed, and she smiled.
"I just know homecoming is coming up. Didn't know if you'd be interested in going as my date. We'd be going with everyone else, but they of course all have dates within the group."
"Of course, I'd love too." Nolan smiled, and pulled Analeigh in for a hug, before parting separate ways, and heading to their next class.
Analeigh was so excited to be asked to homecoming. She was never asked the year before, so she didn't go, but now not only did she have a date, she has a whole group of people to go with.
When she arrived to Health, Jennette and Britt talked to her, and she mentioned how Nolan asked her to the homecoming dance. They knew he was going too, but it was still really exciting for them to hear he had done it so quickly.
"You'll have to come with us when we go dress shopping. We always go with Emma, but now all four of us can go." Britt suggested, and Analeigh agreed, and then class started.
Before Analeigh knew it, it was time for lunch. As she walked to the cafeteria with Britt, Jennette, and Nolan, she felt like someone was watching them, but brushed it off.
The people at her table had really opened up to her, after they found out about her controlling Nolan's mind. Emma and Jones specifically tried to get to know her better, and she was happy. It was weird being friends with such different people, but at the same time she liked it. Emma and Jones had normal problems, but they had other things to talk about than "Oh my god did you hear about the new drink at Starbucks?" or "Have you gotten the new iPhone?". They talked to her about bands, and suggested some music to her.
At the end of lunch, she waited around with everyone else, and when the cafeteria was clear the group walked to the bathrooms together. The girls and guys split up and went into to stalls, and then the bathrooms near their classes. They loved the adrenaline rush of using their powers in public, and almost being late to class.
When Analeigh exited the bathroom near her art classroom, the hallway looked empty and so she tried to make it to her class in time.
"I know what you are." She heard a male voice speak from behind her, and she stopped, turning to find out who it was. Their she found Wade standing their with two of his friends.
"What are you talking about, Wade?" she asked, crossing her arms, and staring into his eyes. He shifted under her gaze, before clearing his throat and continuing.
"You're a future, Analeigh, and so are everyone else at your table." She tried to keep her composure, but she could feel her body slump slightly. "Want to know how I know?" Analeigh gulped, and watched as Wade looked to each of his friends, before stepping closer to her. "While it's in your DNA to be a future, its in mine to capture and kill them, we can sense you." Analeigh's eyes widened, and she backed up slowly, Wade following her.
"Just leave me alone, please." She pleaded, before calling her friends in her head. Guys I need help. However she got no response. Wade had backed her up into a corner, and she panicked, closing her eyes and throwing her hands up to protect herself. Suddenly she heard something heavy, hit the lockers across from her, and feet rushing away. Her eyes opened and she suddenly realized what happened.
She had used her powers to sling Wade across the hall. He rubbed his head, eyes narrowing at the girl.
"You just confirmed what I thought." He smiled deviously, before getting up and trying to make his way across to grab her. She did the only thing she could think of, and that was to teleport out of there.
The moment she opened her eyes, she was in her car. She immediately started it. Guys, get out of the school. Wade is on to us. He just tried to attack me. Go home please, I don't want you guys getting her.
She got responses from most of them saying they were on it, and leaving as soon as possible. She smiled, knowing they would be safe. Suddenly she felt her car dip towards the other side, and she looked over seeing a person. She jumped, before realizing it was just Nolan, and he laughed at her being scared. She slapped him on the arm, before joining in.
"What are you doing here? Why didn't you go home?" He suddenly stopped laughing, and fiddled with his fingers.
"Well, one, you said he tried to attack you, and I just wanted to make sure you were okay, and two, Wade knows where I live, so it's not really safe."
"Wait, why does Wade know where you live?" She questioned, and Nolan chuckled, before answering.
"We were best friends in 9th grade."
