The past two weeks were not the best for Analeigh. She was constantly away from her friends training with Marie and Marcus, and while she loved the Australian goofballs, she missed her friends. Especially Nolan.
Analeigh didn't fully understand why she missed to goofy, caring, friend of hers, but she did. She was drawn to him, which she was expecting, just not this quickly. It feels like she's known Nolan for her whole life, but it was actually only around a month. It was crazy to think how quickly he had wiggle his way into her life.
Marie and Marcus filled Nolan's spot for Analeigh these past two weeks, always encouraging her and pushing her to do everything as the best she could. They also always cut up during their lunch breaks, and had fun walking her to her room every night.
Analeigh was so grateful that Georgina had assigned her to work with some of the most genuinely nice people she had ever had to ability to meet.
The first couple of days Analeigh was forced to work on controlling matter, and it didn't take her long to master the skill. She had the most fun control the fire they set before her. She felt as if she had all the power in the world, and she loved it. It allowed her to realize all of the destruction she could bring to the world, yet she had the power to control where she wanted it's path to be.
She also enjoyed controlling water as well. It was extrememely soothing seeing the water fill the air around her. The water droplets were so pretty, and she loved the way the shined in the florescent lights from the ceiling.
"So hypothetically, if it was raining, I could make it look like I had an invisible umbrella?" she remembered asking this question during the lunch break that day, and Marie giggling.
"I guess you could."
"Let's test it out!" Marcus announced, and Analeigh immediately placed her sandwich down, and the three took off for the sprinkler room. Technically this was for emergencies only, but Marcus was allowed to run them every so often to make sure the system didn't fail.
When they made it to the room, Marcus immediately shut the door before running over to the control panel and setting it to where the sprinklers only went off in this room, instead of the whole building.
"You ready?" he asked, and Analeigh gave him a thumbs up. He pressed a button, and water immediately came from the sprinklers drenching all three of them. Immediately Analeigh placed her hands out on either side, palms facing up, and the water began to avoid her, almost as if she had an umbrella.
"Try walking around!" Marie suggested, and Analeigh glanced her way to see she was also stopping the water from hitting her. Analeigh took a slow step, and the 'umbrella' followed her. She decided to walk faster, and was able to control the water just how she wanted too.
"This is amazing!" She yelled, and suddenly heard the door open.
"What is going on in here?" Analeigh's gaze snapped to the door to find Georgina there, scowling at her.
"We were testing some of her powers." Marcus said, stepping towards the woman. Georgina's face softened, and she glanced at Marie, who nodded quickly.
"Alright then, but get out of there as soon as you're done, and make sure to dry off immediately. I can't afford any of you getting a cold. The three of them nodded, and the moment she shut the door, Marcus immediately ran to turn the water off.
"She literally lets you get away with anything." Marie said later, once they had dried off and were back in the room finishing their lunches. Analeigh thought about the last few days at the incidents that had occurred, and how Georgina had let her get away with it, even though Marie and Marcus had told her she would probably get in trouble.
"I wonder why?" Marcus cleared his throat, and the two girls turned to the screen, where Analeigh's file was pulled up. He stood up and walked in front of the screen, putting to a specific paragraph.
"It says her that Analeigh is a possible candidate for the next leader."
"I'm already a leader, we've established that." Marcus and Marie turned to look at her with wide eyes.
"Not just any leader, Analeigh, the leader, as in over all of the futures." Analeigh shook her head, and looked at her food.
"There is no way. I'm not that special."
"Apparently you are. Georgina lets you get away with anything, as long as it's bettering your powers, or strengthening yourself. She doesn't just do that with everyone."
After the two weeks of training were over, Analeigh was forced to put her skills to the test, in front of her whole group, and Georgina. She wasn't nervous, and did exactly how she had been taught. She had easily surpassed all of her group skill wise, and shocked Georgina.
"You've made quite the journey in these past two weeks, I'm extremely impressed by how quickly you've learned."
"Thank you. You gave me some great teachers." Analeigh glanced towards the two who taught her the past few weeks and smiled as they gave her thumbs up.
"I would like for you to continue working on your powers with the rest of your group. I think you're ready to have more freedom with your training like the rest of them." Analeigh glanced back towards Georgina, and pulled the lady in for a hug.
"Thank you so much!" Georgina hesitantly hugged Analeigh back. She pulled back and fixed her dress, and smiling.
"You're welcome, and I think someone wants to talk to you." she pointed behind Analeigh, who turned around to find Nolan standing there.
"Hey, did you hear? I'm getting to train with you guys now!" Analeigh was all smiles, and Nolan couldn't help but pull her into a hug.
"I'm so happy, it sucked going two weeks of practically not seeing you." Analeigh pulled away and nodded.
"So what did you want to talk about?" Nolan blushed, and scratched the back of his head.
"Well, I was wondering if maybe, I'll understand if you're not ready, but like maybe you'd like to go on a date with me. I know we can't do much being stuck down here and all but it's the thought that counts right?" Analeigh couldn't stop from laughing at how nervous he was.
"Of course I'd go on a date with you. Why are you so nervous? We're soulmates aren't we? It's like written in the stars for me to end up with you." She joked and he glared, before wrapping his arm around her and heading towards their rooms.
