"Analeigh, what is going on?" was the first thing she heard when she arrived at her house. She looked around making sure everyone was there before smiling sheepishly at her mom.
"Um, that's kind of a long story." Her mom gave her a stern look, as she stood up from the couch. Analeigh gulped, and Nolan pulled her into a side hug. "We've been exposed." Her mom's eyes looked at everyone, noticing their distraught on their faces.
"Okay, everyone take a seat, I want to know the whole story." Everyone listened, finding seats on the couch and recliners. Analeigh's mom looked around waiting for someone to speak, and much to everyone's surprise Emma did.
"If I'm correct, after lunch we went to the bathroom and teleported to the bathroom near our next class. When Analeigh walked out of her's, Wade confronted her." Emma looked to Analeigh, who nodded.
"Wait, who is Wade?" Analeigh's mom spoke up.
"The school bully." Nolan answered, and Analeigh's mom nodded, and Analeigh continued the story.
"He was yelling at me, telling me he knew who and what we were, all of us. He said it was in his blood to hunt and kill us. I maybe used my powers to defend myself, and that just confirmed it for him. I'm so sorry guys. I should've been smarter about it. I just didn't know how to control it yet." Analeigh eyes started to water, and Nolan pulled her into his chest, rubbing her back. He didn't like to see her cry, and blame herself, because it was his fault not hers.
'Anyway, Mrs. Parker, we're here because Wade knows where the rest of us live. It wasn't safe for us to go home." Jackson spoke, gripping Garrett's hand tightly. Analeigh's mom glanced around at all the couples, before she smiled.
"First off, please call me Kathy, and secondly, you guys are welcome her until we figure something out." At that moment the doorbell rang and her mom's face went white.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Analeigh asked, sitting back up and wiping her eyes. Her mom held up anfd finger, signaling them to be silent as she went to answer the door. The group stayed still and quiet confused as to what or who was at the door.
"Hello, officers, how may I help you?" Analeigh heard her mom say, and her heart started to beat really fast. Why were the cops here? Were they on to them? "No sir, she's not home from school yet. She said she had plans with her friends after school." Her heart started to slow down a little hoping that would send the officers away, but however that was not the case. "Do you have a warrant sir, I didn't say you could come in my house." Loud footsteps were heard coming down the hallway, and the group did what they knew best, teleport.
Analeigh's mom followed the officer down the hall and into an empty living room. "See Officer, I told you no one was in the living room. Now would you please get out of my house before I call your captain and report you coming in without a warrant." The officer looked at Kathy before turning around and leaving.
The moment the officer was completely gone, the 8 teens appeared back right where they were before. Kathy looked at them sadly before taking her seat .
"They were looking for you Analeigh. Wade went to the cops saying you assaulted him. They want to take you in, but if they do they'll find out you're a future, and then the rest of you will also be brought in. It's getting really dangerous for you guys here, you're going to have to go to headquarters." The group looking around before Jackson spoke up.
"Headquarters? Where is headquarters?" Kathy looked into each of their eyes, tears forming in her eyes.
"Dallas, Texas." Those two words changed everyone's life. Analeigh's mom began contacting everyone's parents, who agreed it was the only way to keep them safe. The parents all came by later that night with their kids bags all packed and ready to go. It was heartbreaking for Analeigh to watch all of friends say goodbye to her parents. With all of her friends in tears, it was hard for her not to join them. She knew she was going to have to say goodbye to her parents too but at least she'd be able to be with them until they got dropped off in Texas.
She was scared to move again. This time she would be taking friends with her, but it still scared her. She would be away from her family, and probably wouldn't have any access with them. This just made her tears fall harder. Nolan noticed the crying girl and went to comfort her, as he was still waiting for his parents to arrive.
"Hey, what's wrong?" She looked up and shrugged her shoulders, causing him to chuckle softly as he pulled her in for a hug. "Sometimes I think you forget I can read your mind and know you're lying." She giggled, pulling him tighter.
"I just don't want to leave, I just got here, and I hate seeing everyone else cry. It's all my fault that they're crying. I just wish I could fix everything." Nolan rubbed her back, and whispered sweet nothings in her ears until his parents arrived. The moment he saw his parents walk through the door, he pulled back from the hug.
"You're going to be okay, right? No more tears?" Analeigh smiled, nodding.
"No more tears." Nolan smiled, before kissing her forehead and walking towards his parents. He pulled them both in for a hug.
"I'm going to miss you guys so much." He whispered and his mom kissed his cheek.
"We're only a phone call away, and this isn't permanent you know. You'll be back before you know it." He nodded, and she pulled him in for another hug. When he pulled back his dad slapped him on the arm, and told him goodbye. His mom quickly explained where she had everything packed, before rushing out to join his dad.
"Is that everyone's parents?" Kathy asked, and Nolan turned to see everyone else nodding. "Well, I guess we better get going. Analeigh, Nolan, Britt and Jennette are riding with me. The other four are with her dad." The group grabbed their bags, and headed outside. They quickly piled their luggage in, got in the cars themselves and headed down the road towards Dallas.
