I sit outside a lone store, one of the only ones left. The harsh sunlight beat onto my neck as I stare down at the concrete, my feet curled to as I hold Vampy to my chest "Do you hate me..?" I asked the small creature. Vampy didn't do much but let out a small meow. "I guess that's a no." I rustle around in my bag and pull out a small can of cat food.
I struggle with the lid for a moment before I finally manage to peel it open and place it onto the pavement next to the smoky kitten. The wind rustles through my ears as I watch Vampy devour the can of wet food. "I guess its good, huh?" i pet him before I glance up into the sky "Was he telling the truth..? Was I asleep for 6 whole months..?" I murmur softly, my eyes glazing over the clouds passing by overhead. I pause, looking at Vampy "Guess you wouldn't really know, right?" I chuckle softly and ruffle Vampy's ears "You are the cutest lil cat ever."
With a small groan of discomfort, I stand up and glance at my surroundings. It's bleak, dark. Moss covered pavement and overgrown flowers and yards. A few monsters roam around inside the stores, their yellowing eyes blinking slowly. I shudder quietly "Ew."
I pick up Vampy, carrying the now satisfied feline. I begin walking towards a bike rack, picking out a bike with a decent amount of air in it's tires and cut the lock off. "Stupid damn thing.." I grumble, my knife struggling with the strong rubber. after a minute of cursing and heavy sawing, I manage to free a black bike with blue handlebars and a basket. I grab the frame of the bike and slide my leg over it, putting Vampy in the basket as I scoot onto a relatively smooth patch of concrete. As my legs begin pumping the bike forward I glance around my beloved town now nothing more than the ruins of memories.
I look at my school, the grass and flowers out of control. With a sad sigh I glance over it. My friends, my family, my teachers. All gone. Reduced to nothing more than a thought scratching at my skull. I scratch my head, turning my eyes back to the road.
Author's note: HIHIHI! So sorry I was gone for like a year lol. I know you all probably forgot this story but I'm posting this chapter in hopes I'll actually get the motivation to finish this damn thing. ANYWAYS, Thanks for reading and supporting me! Love all around <3333
