[eiden]

"They might have survived! Come on!" I yell to the small group. It's been less than an hour, but there's still a chance.

I don't like her. I know what she did to Warren, and I know what kind of person it takes to do that. But from what I just saw, she isn't that person.

And Charlotte... I hate her for what she did. But she shouldn't die, and if she's dying she shouldn't suffer.

Ali didn't want to come, and honestly I wasn't going to wait around. Finn and a few others follow behind me as we carefully make our way circling the hills beneath the cliff.

Our torches help, but the grassy moss is almost blue with how dark it is. A frown's on my face as my left arm aches, the chilly air hits my bare arms, and my right hand throbs inside the bandages.

"Bex!" Finn yells, since we're nearer to the bottom.

It goes unanswered, but we're trying to stay close to the area directly beneath the cliff where Charlotte jumped.

"Eiden, there!" Finn points, and the group goes running.

"Bex!" I yell.

And there's finally a voice. "H- here!" It's weak though.

I exhale before running closer. My eyes widen as I stare unsurely at the spot midway down the cliff. She didn't fall too far considering how far away the water is from us.

Waves crash against rocks which only increases my apprehension.

"You got this?" he asks.

I only shift my head slightly before nodding. There's enough room for two people to walk to her section, but not comfortably. As annoying as Finn's crush on Clarke is, we both don't need to walk over the waterfall.

I finally step onto the ledge, holding onto whatever rocks protrude on the path. It has to be my right hand through, which causes me to wince, but at least nobody's close enough to hear it.

"I'm almost there, Bex."

Finally I do find her. Her shoulder's clearly popped out, and blood drips from the side of her face and down her hair. I suck in a breath sharply before reaching her body as it lays against another rock.

Well. How the mighty have fallen.

Disappointed by myself, I shake out of it.

"Oh, they sent you?" She groans.

With everything going on, the only thing I can do is hope she's hit her head and hold my tongue. It gives way for her to speak, and every bit of amusement drains.

"She's dead. She pushed me away so she could go into the water. Charlotte's gone."

All I do is reach down my hand. "So's Murphy." Banished, that is. So he's gone.

She grabs onto my hand with hers. Much like the rest of half her body, her hand's covered in blood and new scratches. A painful wince mirrored by her expression comes over her as I grunt, pulling her up.
