*Red's POV*
I'm walking with Orange as he talks about a creature that has been roaming the area near the Orange Village.
"It has the hooves of a horse and long, lean body and it's pure black. We think it might a type of darkness or some sort of monster that only roams around at night—"
"Or it's just a steve wearing a cloak while riding a horse."
I cut off Orange's blabber. I know there is something out there because the Orange leader specifically asked me if I could figure out what's causing the villagers so much distress but Orange's story of some sort of monster sounds ridiculous.
"You don't believe there's some sort of monster out there, do you?"
Orange gives me an accusatory glare. I just sigh in exasperation.
"Orange, I know how imaginative you guys can be. Remember the last time you guys thought you saw a monster."
A few weeks ago the orange steves thought they were being tormented by a ten foot creature with extremely sharp fangs that could eat a steve in one gulp. It turned out to be just a very big wolf, and it hadn't eaten any of the village's livestock, let alone any steves.
Orange's cheeks go slightly red as he remembers the incident.
"Yeah, well, there is something out there and plus, my story isn't as crazy as your story about a race of beings that could come back from the dead."
Oh, he did not just go there.
"Players were a race of beings that could respawn after dying, they went extinct when the darkness found a way to permanently destroy their souls. And it's not a story, it's history."
Most steves nowadays seem to think players never existed in the first place, but us red steves know the truth. They did exist, but unfortunately they are now extinct, and because their souls were destroyed, there aren't even any in the World Beyond.
One look at Orange and I know he still doesn't believe me.
"Sure, whatever you say, Red. Let's just go find this creature so I can prove to you it exists."
I sigh again, but decide no to argue.
"Alright, let's just get this over with."

ExtinctAU! An AU where players and steves used to live together until Void decided to get rid of them along with the biome steves and the others.
Hence all the players are dead, apart from Sabre, of course, who the Orange Village has mistaken for a strange night creature.
