"You were out late last night."
Taehyung glanced up from the pottery wheel the next morning, concentration broken only by these words. His glasses had slipped as usual, making the whole world hazy again - but this time his hands were covered in damp clay, so he couldn't fix them.
Instead, he just observed the blurry outline of his sleepy brother, shuffling into the kitchen in nothing but a pair of silk pyjama pants.
"Aren't you cold, hyung?" he asked, returning to the wheel, shaping the centre of the vase he was working on. "It's October."
Jin shrugged nonchalantly, moving into the kitchen and pouring himself some water. "I run warm."
"Mm," Taehyung hummed, in a mischievous mood. "By the way, I ordered us breakfast from that cafe downstairs, since you like it so much. Dimples should be up to deliver it any minute."
Jin spluttered water all over the kitchen floor.
"You did what?" he flew past Taehyung, dashing into his bedroom. "Shit, I need to put some clothes on-"
Taehyung's shoulders shook as he watched his brother go. "I'm kidding, hyung!"
Jin reappeared at his bedroom door, shirtless and glowering.
"I would kill you," Jin seethed, jabbing a finger at him accusingly. "But I'm far too handsome for prison."
Taehyung just grinned back at him.
"And you dodged my question," Jin bent down for Yeontan, picking him up and making his way over to Taehyung with the dog in his arms. "Where were you last night? I mean, not that I'm not pleased you weren't festering on my couch, like you usually do on a Friday night."
Though his stomach swooped at the memory of the previous evening spent with you, Taehyung just shrugged.
"I went to an event," he replied, resuming focus on the ceramic vase he was currently working on. He wanted to finish it today and get it fired, so he'd have a few pieces ready for you to use in your concept designs this week.
Not that his entire sense of self-worth was riding on whether the girl across the hall liked his work. Nope. Absolutely not.
Jin stroked Yeontan's head in deliberation as he stared down at Taehyung. "An event? That's vague. What was it, some kind of pottery orgy or something?"
