chapter sixteen

When the sun rose the next day in Seoul, it brought change for not one couple, but two.
To begin with, Taehyung's eyes fluttered open as he woke, squinting a little at the light filtering in through his bedroom window. Except, as he came to his senses, he realised that his own bedroom was rarely this bright, his own sheets definitely not this soft.
When it clicked that he was in your room and not his, he couldn't help the satisfied smile that spread lazily across his face.
He yawned, stretching his arms above his head, before realising he could not move his left one. It was trapped beneath you, beneath where your back was pressing into his chest, your body curled into the space his made.
Taehyung had expected to find you still sleeping, puffing out adorable breaths of air as your hair formed a messy halo around your face; but this wasn't the case. You were already wide awake, phone in hand, clearly having been scrolling for some time.
"Good morning," he whispered to you, placing a soft kiss on your shoulder. When you realised he was awake too, a lazy smile tugged at the corner of your mouth, turning in Taehyung's hold to face him.
"Good morning yourself," you grinning shyly at him, making Taehyung's heart race. Your hair was mussed - from sleep, and from your activities in bed with him the night before - and on instinct, his hand reached out to smooth it down. "How did you sleep?"
"Great," he smiled back, his hand not leaving your hair, leaving his other words unspoken. Because I was here with you.
He must have been making a face in the effort not to let these words burst from him, because a look of confusion suddenly knit your brows together.
"Tae?" you asked, eyes wide and vulnerable. "What are you thinking about?"
He opened his mouth to answer, but couldn't find the words.
Taehyung knew this was moving fast. He knew that Jin would have something to say about it, for sure - that he'd barely known you two weeks, and already he was sleeping beside you. Already seeing you bare for him, already experiencing new heights of passion and intimacy, as you had done last night.
